I have a young child sleeping in the room above the sitting room and an elderly neighbour and so couldn't use my 5-1 speakers during the evening. I spent a few hours reviewing different wireless models and eventually bought these. First night, put on Independance Day, turned on the 5-1 surround setting on the headphone, jacked-up the sound - I felt like I was at the cinema - Fantastic. Evan 2 floors up the sound is excellent. The 5-1 is never going to be like your 5-1 speakers but I swear, on more than one occasion I have turned to the right or to the left because I thought I'd heard a noise over my shoulder but no, it's the 5-1 trickery, very good. One major major tip, I first plugged these into my amp leaving the volume on the amp untouched. I put the head-set on, hit play and thought, "wow these are rubish!" Lots of hissing. You need to turn the sound source up (a lot) whether on your amp or your TV and then turn the volume down on the headset and the hissing sound completely dissapears. This is my first ever review and I've done so because here is a product which does exactly what it says on the tin!

Good build quality as expected from Sennheiser, but I was a little disappointed with the sound quality. Found I got a buzzing/interference sound when moving around and had to find 'the right spot' to sit to watch tv or play my keyboards without it distorting, even turning my head could cause problems. Once in the 'sweetspot' the sound quality was good but still a little hissy at times although was not noticable while watching films (the surround mode does work quite well for movies). I probably will not by wireless again as wired headphones give far superior sound.

Yes you can get a little hissing sound at times but its easy to move a little to get rid of this (make sure reciver in not too close to other power cables as this wont help the hissing) this will work on anything inc ps3 xbox360 with the phono to minijack adapters.
The range is outstanding and the sound is great, also they are very light and ther on my head for over 6 hours a day as am a keen gamer. Thanks rob a++++ 9.5/10

I got these on sat after ordering on wed nite great on play for speedy delv. Anyway got them set them up and was very let down by them i tried diff postions for the base units but the cans just would not give me a clear sound, also when in surround mode the light kept filckering hiss, stattic and the sound was terrible for a pair of sennheiser's. I know wireless is not as good as wired but the phones are just no good at high volume at all i watch DVDs on a home cinema system and these cans are bad for sound all round i will be sending them back and gonna get a good pair of wired instead....I think my pair must be faulty as everyone on here rates them high and im no Audiophile just someone looking for a decent sound from a £80 set of can's...

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Great headphones, highly recommended!

Usually, when I buy something like these, they get used once or twice and then sit there gathering dust. Not with these great cans though.

I use these pretty much every day - in fact I've got a couple of pairs - for TV / movies and playing games. I discovered a whole layer of audio in Call of Duty: World at War that I could not hear before and it makes it a much more intense experience playing whilst wearing these cans turned up nice and loud (not too loud though - you don't want to wreck your lugs).

A couple of things worth mentioning. Firstly, these attach up to your audio / TV with a standard headphone jack, so you can just plug them in - through the base station - like any other set of 'phones and use them with pretty much anything. The only problem with that is you don't get real surround sound out of them, although you do have a button which "expands" the sound and this really is a nice effect (I leave it on this mode all the time when watching TV or playing games). It's far from a substitute for a proper 5.1 set-up though.

Secondly, you need to turn up the volume on you audio / TV kit quite high and adjust the sound through the headphones themselves - this reduces any hiss.

All in all, I think these are the best TV / audio accessory that I have bought. Great sound, comfortable to wear, batteries last for ages between recharges (never run out on me yet), great design of phones and base-station. Can't fault them!

I can't rate these headphones highly enough, the sound quality is excellent and the addition of a surround switch makes watching movies great. They fit well and are not heavy to wear for long periods. The build quality is also very good Thanks once again to play for such prompt delivery

Does anyone know if they work with a ps3 and xbox 360?
