  Good to start with

I got these headphones under a month ago and initially was impressed with the sound quality and also their ability to block outside noise. I listen to my ipod whilst at the gym and the left headphones volume decreased in 2 weeks for some reason, and then yesterday the right one broke completley. Not great.

A few weeks ago my old CX 300 broke ;( ,which I had for almost 3 years, and wanted to buy another of them. However when i looked on play I saw that the CX 300 were £17.99 and then I thought great deal I'll them but then I the CX 300 mark II.. After about a week of thinking (no joke, I'm still in school and don't have a job) I decide to get the CX 300 mark II. Three days past and the headphones arrived, very quick deilvers, and when i opened the package i was amazed at the improvments over the previous model. First off the headphone jack that goes into your ipod or whatever, had been made so that it won't just become lose and come out and break like in the CX 300 (this is how mine broke after the glue wore away). Senhiser has also made improvments to the length of the cable (YAY) this means that when you turn your head they won't fallout of your ears! the cable also feels much stronger and more expensive than the CX 300's. The sound quailtity has also been improved, mainly the bass.

Overall if you have the extra £12 I think the its well worth getting the mark II, but if you don't the CX 300 are good aswell...but not as good :)

peace out

Just got these from play.com and im very impressed. The noise cancelling is very good and quality of the sound easily beats my last sony headphones. Thumbs up!

Very Good Sound - Bass a bit weak

I bought a pair of he Sennheiser CX 300 Mark 1 before, and the bass I feel is much better than the Mark 2 version.
The packaging is near impossible to get open, I had a real fight with it and a pair of sissors. The quality of the headphones is great but dont be fooled into thinking the bass will be amazing. I have a Ipod Classic (80Gb) and I tried various equalizer settings, but found with the Dance and Bass Enhancer settings and the headphones turned up there was more bass produced, but you can hear slight distorting in the sound as it cannot produce such a loud sound output with considerable bass. Overall I am impressed and would recommend them to anyone, just not to get your hopes up too much about the quality of bass that these headphones can produce. The structure of the headphones means they are excellent at cancelling out background noise (like ear plugs), like another review mentioned it means you can have the volume lower which is always a good thing.

As a owner of a CX300 Mark I's the quality with the Mark II's are amazing, the bass great and the treble. The headphones for me double up as earplugs. No need to high volume as the earphones fit well so no leakage. Great job play.com the item arrived within 3 days.

Got these for Xmas for my ipod Touch and wow what a great pair of headphones, the performance over the standard ipod phones is incredible no comparison what so ever, the bass is superb as with the clarity of the full range of tones. Also tried my Touch with my wifes Sony headphones which I got her for her ipod as I do like Sony equipment but although they are far superior to the standard headphones there was a massive improvement again with the Sennheiser's which really surprised me. Would highly recommend and for £30 are great value for money.

A definite improvement over CX 300 Mark 1s

Purchased these as my CX 300 Mark 1s were getting a bit old (3 years). At first I was a bit skeptical about the slight design changes such as a more obtrusive 3mm jack, but it is purely down to preference. What earns these a 5 star rating is the sound quality over the previous CX300s, these are by far richer and yet maintain the same oomph in the bass dept. At £30 there is simply no competition - I did have more expensive Sony headphones but they can't match these.
