PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus is a high quality image-processing technology developed by Panasonic to precisely process each pixel of the Blu-ray Disc video signal in the vertical direction. It reproduces colour data with twice the accuracy of conventional systems to keep colours faithful and sharp. P4HD processes more than 15 billion pixels per second and applies the optimal processing to every pixel. So that it can render progressive images superbly, expresses motion smoothly, and draws crisp diagonal lines.

BD-Live* lets users access to the Internet to download data such as images and subtitles, and to join in quizzes and multi-player interactive games that are linked to bonus movie content contained on Blu-ray disc. *BD-ROM Profile 2. Actual functions vary depending on the Blu-ray disc media.

Simply press the Viera Link button on the Viera's remote control and select "Player" on the Viera Link Menu screen. The Blu-ray Disc player's menu will display on the TV screen, and you can begin playback of a Blu-ray disc or select from the Blu-ray disc menu.

The DMP-BD35 is equipped with a card slot that makes it easy to transfer images from an HD camcorder or digital still camera that uses SD Memory Cards. Simply insert the card, and the DMP-BD35 fills a large-screen TV with AVCHD-format video images or JPEG stills in full 1920 x 1080 resolution.

The DMP-BD35 can decode HD Audio (Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD) and output 7.1ch digital audio signal. The resulting audio is studio master quality sound. This signal can be connected to an HDMI compatible receiver that does not support HD Audio Codec.

'panasonic' it's the bi-word for quality, slim, light, easy set-up, great picture quality and good sound quality.
i did in fact buy this machine from a source other than 'play' because i wanted a modification to be able to play 'region 1' dvd's.
often, even now, some major titles are released way before the home site, so i often use the 'u.s.a' site.
if you have played your region '2' dvd's on a blu-ray machine you will know the picture quality is quite a bit sharper which is the reason for getting multi-region 'dvd' function on this player.
isn't it about time that 'blu-ray' area 'a' films can also be played on our players ? ........there are so many more titles available on region'a' than region 'b' alter these facts and and the questions will no doubt stop.
( if you do want a region 'a' player, this model is available on line, you would need to buy a 'voltage' step down, as the player is designed for u.s. play ( 100 w ) ours is ( 240 w ) other than that just set it up including switching it from u.s network to 'pal' and your up and running ) hope you find this useful .

If you are looking for dedicated player than PS3 than this is the one for you...

Got this great player last week, I was using PS3 before for Blu Ray only and I was not happy with sound quality... So I bought this player and found huge difference!

In PS3, it was restricted in Picture and Sound settings, you can now play around as you can in dedicate player. Now I can set them as I want and pass... sound in Bitstream to my amplifier to get maximum output.

About this player, it's easy to setup, crisp picture, better colours and excellent sound output.

I already mentioned about sound. Huge difference (if you have surround system). Also you can use onboard processor to HD Audio Decoding if your amplifier doesn't support them. Works flawlessly!

BD Live, Profile 2.0, SD Card, Divx, MP3 and online updates are great to have them.

Note: playing divx (on CD/DVD-+RW) is bit tricky on this player. I hope they will fix this issue with firmware update soon.

Audio CD and SD DVD quality is also awesome.

Easy to make it multiregion by using remote codes.

In nutshell it's an excellent player!

 Buy it!

Had previously been using PS3 for blu ray but purchased this based on reviews in What Hi-Fi magazine.
Put simply it produces stunning blu ray images, colours and detail are much better than that which the PS3 produces.
Can't comment on the HD sound as i only have it hooked up to a stereo amp.
The menu system is straightforward and easy to use, makes set up simple, also it is profile 2.0 and has ethernet port to update with ease.
Best picture you can get for the money. Go buy one!!

 Stunning player

This is a stunning machine! Blu ray looks great! Colour is spot on! And upscaling is very good! But depends on the dvd! They can look ok to amazing!! Try depeche modes live in milan dvd! The upscaling job on that is so good! You start to wonder if its a blu ray :) be careful of some of the blu ray films!! Some older films have had sloppy treatments done!!! I heard stuff like robocop looks poor on blu ray, so read reviews to find out whats worth getting :) stuff like the lost boys and the warriors are examples of how it should be done :)

 Faultless!

I am using this with a Panazonic 37" Viera LCD Television. This bluray player offers amazing definition, colurs & upscalaing!
