these speakers are absolutely great. Sound quality is crisp and clear and the bottom end is weighty - level 2 is actually too much for my kitchen to handle (lots of wooden cupboard amplifying the bass) so level 1 is fine.
If you are even contemplating a small set of speakers for around £100 then LOOK NO FURTHER ! Buy these NOW :)
i bought these a while back now for my PC to replace an ageing set of satellites. now i wasn't immediately impressed but after having them for a while i realised how good the sound out of them was and I could never go back. they are very well made and the bass and clarity is excellent (you'll only need the subwoofer on level 2!)
my only gripe is with AE customer service. my 3.5mm jack to phono lead became faulty through no fault of my own and AE wouldn't replace it, they told me to go buy a new one. after spending all that money!
anyway, fantastic quality speakers
Having looked around for awhile for new speakers to go with my squeezebox, I ended up buying the Aego's. And what a fantastic choice. The sound is crisp, clarity is superb and there's no distortion when you pump up the volume. The sub packs a punch, even on level 2.
Fantastic sound and superb value for money. Highly recommended.
I bought a set to use with my PC, they are fantastic for what they are/cost and blew my quite expensive Creative I-trigue units into the sonic wilderness! If you want something compact and simple to use with a computer, mp3 player, squeeze box etc look at these. They look and feel lovely, heavyweight with good build quality and sound really good. Great tonality with good vocal presence, sparkling treble, good midrange for the size of the satellite and a tight and powerful, tuneful bass and easily enough volume/clout to fill an average room.
