I have owned Creative in-ear headphones before and have loved the sound quality, and with the EP-630s they were no exception. I think in general in-ear headphones with the rubberised plugs seem to sound a lot better because they block out more external noise.
HOWEVER...
The biggest problem with headphones is that they almost always end up breaking at the jack where the internal wire has been bent and twisted as most people tend to wrap the headphone cable around their mp3 to store. I think it's time the manufacturers came up with a better stronger material to make the life expectancy of headphones longer, don't you?
Anyway, the EP-630s were great, while they lasted. I bought them from Play.com in May and it is now July and yes, they've broke. The sound went in the left ear and I so have been forced yet again to dip my hand into the pool of earphones availble on the market and fish out something new.
So a quick breakdown...
Pros: Good sound quality and liked the fact that the frequency range was unrivaled by some of the more expensive makes like Sennheiser whose frequency range is less.
Cons: Buds didn't sit too well in the ear canal and I tried swapping over the different plug sizes too, not particularly uncomfortable but could have fit better. Also, the obvious one, the life of the earphones, lasted under 3 months and only went through mild every day wear and tear.
Overall: Good sound quality and great price for some pretty average joes, but didn't last long!
Excellent compared to the headphones they give you with the player, however after a few months one of the earbuds had died so i'm having to spend out on another different set.
I would love to praise these wonderful headphones, but sadly can't.
I have had 3 pairs in total, and all have broken.
For the price the sound qualiy is excellent, and great with my ipod when i am druming, and save damaging my ears, through loud drums, or having to turn the music up to compete.
But...
In total i have had 3 pairs, 2 of which are from play, and all have broken.
2 pairs have died in 1 ear, and the mesh from the other pair came out and lodged quite painfully in my ear. Each pair did this between 3 and 9 months after having them.
So although the sound quality is good, the build quality is not.
The sound quality was excellent, they fitted my ears so well that they never fell out, and I couldn't hear anything going on around me (good for blocking out my other half's angry rants).
I was distraught when, after a year of nigh-on constant use, the cable broke. Thankfully, the left one still works, but it's just not the same. I don't see a downside to buying a crate of these headphones and just using them for the rest of my life; I can't foresee the need to change. They're that good.
To those who say theirs broke after 3 months or so, what are you doing to them? Wrapping them around firecrackers? These are very robust headphones which have withstood my blasé attitude toward treating electronic equipment with care for over a year; lesser models I've used have lasted for not even a tenth of the time.
Buy them now; much better value than anything else, IMHO.
I bought this earphones in march when I finally thought - 'Why am I still using normal earphones'?
I had previously thought that it was because I couldn't get them in my ears, but my dad has a pair, I tried his on and they fit! They come with three different sizes of ear buds.
This shows the comfort of them - I worn them for the whole of a flight from London-Bangalore(India) - this is a 10.5 hour flight, and when I took them off my ears had no pain whatsoever. These earphones are really good on a plane - much better then the disposable ones that BA give you.
The sound quality is amazing - sound is crystal clear, and when walking down a busy street, car noise is just quiet noises in the background - NB - these earphones do not cancel outside noise completely - they sort of 'quieten it down'.
These earphones are fantastic - well done Creative.
