  Very, very easy to use

I have recently bought three digital photo frames as presents for other people. This one I bought as a present for my husband and it was the cheapest but easiest to use of all three. We are fairly useless when it comes to technical stuff but all I had to do was put the card from my camera in to the photoframe and the frame did the rest. I'm very impressed and will buy some more as presents for other people when its back in stock again.

  USB port failed

Plugged a USB stick into the port. Images came through corrupted and after about 5 minutes the USB port on the frame failed all together. USB sticks did not fit snuggly into the frame, the quality of the socket was poor.

Bit wary about what to expect due to the price and resolution. Not tested with any memory cards yet, but put in a small USB key to test. Key had mixture of docs, music and pics. It scanned and found the images in a few seconds and started displaying them straightaway! Pleasantly surprised by the quality of images! At this price can't go wrong really. Bought two, one for me - one as a Xmas present.

am thinking of buying one as a gift but have 1 query, do you have to store photos onto a memory card or can you transfer them from your PC to the photo frame? thanks

I bought three of these for presents and though not Sony quality they are easy to use (I used SD card) and great value for money.

Kitvision 7" Digital Photo Frame - Amazing Value

I, like most were sceptical over the price. Bought as a present and I have just ordered another one. One thing I don't understand is, one reviewer returned it for not having an off switch - it does, just read the instructions!!

HD TV dimensions, requires resizing for Hi Res Images

Got this because of the good reviews for displaying images. The final result was indeed good but required some fiddling.

It took a second put my SD card in the slot to display some (not all) images. To display them all at my satisfaction I needed to understand the frame requirements:

Frame Ratio: 16:9
Perhaps pictures displayed on HDTV is the future as this ratio is normally found in widescreen TV, HDTV, DVD, etc. My point and shoot can set to shoot at 16:9 but my canon DSLR still shoots at the classic film ratio of 3:2. Because of this, my pics all have black bars on the left and right side of the frame. You can either change the display mode from auto fit to pan scan or you manually crop them yourself.

Display Resolution:
True resolution is 480x270 which is in 16:9 ratio. The manual states a funny resolution of 480x234 but setting my images at this resolution I ended up with black bars on top and the bottom.
Note the frame will not display images larger than 4000 pixels wide. To display you reduce the size.

slide show:
Images do not shuffle and the transitions or slide effects do shuffle but cannot be adjusted.

The surrounding is clear plastic. Which is lighter and safer than glass. The corners are rounded too.

There is a clear blue dot at the bottom centre of the frame. This is perhaps for the optional remote control. But why not black to match the frame color? A black marker solved that problem.

I think these quirks reduced it to 1 star. At 4 stars its still worth the £17.99
