I've bought 4 of these so far presents... its a good idea to preload it with a slideshow prior to giving as a gift... I gave it as a belated wedding gift to my best mate with a slideshow of his wedding day.. best present they got and I spent less than £30 :)

  Reliability Concerns

A good value unit which displays a clear image from a reasonable viewing image, not so good close up. Unit worked for just under a month and then went dead. Returned to Play for replacement. No on/off switch which is a bit awkward when changing cards and probably contributed to the fault since the unit is receiving full power when connected/disconnected from mains supply.

For 17.99 (5*) this is a bit of a bargain, for 25 still OK (4*) but no more than that. Nice quality pics, simple to use interface. Internal memory is a bit of a waste of time for two reasons: 1. you cant fit more than about 8 pics on there at any size and 2. the image quality seems to be downgraded when its moved from memcard onto the internal memory. SO - dig out any old titchy SDcard or memory stick and that works best. You cant see the card sticking out from the front. A substantial gift for not much money :)

  Amazing frame than expected

I was jubbious about buying a frame until reading a few reviews

Once it was ordered it arrived in a couple of days.
It was packed well. Once I had put a few imaged on a SD card then placed in the slot I was up and running. All that was needed was the power cable. The images were not to sharp close up but at a distance they were very acceptable depending on quality of the photo. I brought it when it was £17.99 even now it is a higher price, but it is still worth the money though.

This photo frame a short while ago was £17.99 and is now £24.99 but even at that price it is amazing. The quality is amazing for the price. The options for viewing the photos are also of acceptable quality. It looks great and is the perfect present. Like so many before have said dnt waste time spending £50 + when u can buy this for just £17.99

Amazing frame at an amazing price!!!

It was worried this would look terrible, I mean a digital frame for under £18?? But it is worth every penny, and even though its gone back up to £24.99 I would be happy to pay that too!! Amazing frame, clear pictures, great look, bargain price!! Forget £50-£100, get this!!!

  Better than expected

Having once sent back a Texet frame which cost £50 and looked cheap and plasticy, I was so delighted with this £17.99 frame I promptly ordered another!

The frame appearance is black with a clear perspex border which makes the whole thing much more stylish that it's price suggests.

There is a stand which attaches with a bayonet fitting for either portrait or landscape format (there's a menu option to rotate the image for portrait format).

The picture resolution is bright and clear though in widescreen format, which means that normal 4:3 pictures are cropped slightly. There is an option in the frame to crop the pictures differently though the auto setting works well and I haven't noticed the cropping in use..

There's a choice of speeds of image cycling and the screen brightness is adjustable too. The frame also works with SDHC, which is good.

All in all, a bargain! =)
