Good, cheap card let down by incompatability

Very fast card and superb value for money.
Unfortunately it only worked in my camera (Canon A610).
I've got two SD card readers on my PC (Windows XP) and neither of them could indentify the card, let alone format it or access it.
A third, plug-in USB reader did work, but only after formatting the card in the camera first would it work properly.
Still, I bought the card to use in the camera, which it does extremely well. My only concern is that if I take the card to ASDA say, will the equipment there be able to read it.

It is very good deal to buy sandisk ultra ll 2gb sd memory card in just 4.99 from play.com. It is real a very price.
