Originally developed for professional musicians, the E2c combines Dynamic MicroDriver speaker technology with a sound isolating design to deliver rich, full-range sound while blocking outside noise -- ideal for enhancing your listening experience with portable MP3, DVD, and CD players as well as all other audio sources.
Sound Isolating Technology
The E2c's in ear design works like an earplug to block background noise naturally. This enables you to listen comfortably at lower volumes -- even in loud environments. And unlike bulky headphones utilizing active noise cancellation technology, no artifacts are introduced into your listening experience. Sound isolating earphones are also much smaller and don't require batteries.
Speaker Type: Dynamic MicroDrivers
The E2c's speakers are constructed with studio-grade components, producing outstanding audio clarity that allows you to hear your music like never before.
Personal Fit Kit
Because every ear is different, E2c Earphones come with three pairs (small, medium, large) of disposable Foam Sleeves, and three pairs (small, medium, large) of Flex Sleeves to ensure the ideal personalized fit.
Secure In Ear Design
The soft, flexible sleeves in the Fit Kit gently contour the inside of the ear for a comfortable, secure fit so that the earphones don't fall out while you're exercising.
Low-Profile Earphone Cables
The E2c's cables pass behind the ear - out of sight and out of the way -- to provide a more comfortable, discreet fit.
Lightweight Construction
Weighing only 1 oz (30g), the E2c is lightweight and comfortable enough for any portable listening application -- packing a big punch in such a compact package.
Earphones Carrying Case
The E2c comes with a stylish, compact carrying case. The cable spool inside provides a convenient, tangle-free way to store your earphones.

I bought my Shure's about two and a half years ago, and at that time, I paid 60 quid, which was a bargain then.

Initially, I was shocked by the size of them, and they did feel a bit big in my ears to begin with, but even during my first session they started to feel comfortable. Now, I'm using the middle-sized plugs and even THEY feel fine. Basically, these are the most comfortable earbuds/plugs I've ever worn. Heck, even my super-comfy Sennheiser home-phones aren't as good as my Shures for extended wear.

Though I do enjoy good sound quality, I'm no audiophile. All I know is that these things let me hear things in songs by my favourite artists that I had never noticed before. They're very clear and direct due to the in-ear nature of them, but the sound is also soft enough that even though I am aware of artefacts in 128 Kbps mp3 files (which I no longer use), it doesn't destroy the experience.

The only thing that bothers me with these plugs is that while the over-ear loop is very comfortable, all the coiling and uncoiling has managed to break open the wire so I've had to tape up the wire that goes over my ear, making them less wonderful to wear. I would have liked it if some kind of an extra came with them to keep them in the looped position but didn't take up a lot of space around the ears so they'd still be comfortable to wear.

Other than that, though, and ESPECIALLY for this price. I'm stunned to see them costing this little, to be honest. Safe buy.

 Love them

Had mine for about two years now. To start with I didn't get on that well with them as the fitting is so weird compared to normal buds. However, when you find the right size and material for you they are amazing. High end mid end are bang on the mark and very crisp. Low end: fine, just not as amazing as the remarkable mid+top end. The reason people speak about the lower frequency is the way these deep in-earphones work. You have to have them in properly to get any bass. As soon as you let them loose the propper fit the bass goes walkies.

The sound isolation is fantastic as well. I commuted on the tube every day for a while and for that they are prefect. Normally you find yourself turning up the volume on headphones when the sourounding environment gets louder. Either that, or you just accept that you can't hear the music. With these you can listen at the lowest volume and still hear it where ever you are.

Stunners. If you are very serious about sound.... get a pair. If you are VERY serious about sound....have a look at the rest of Shure's range.

 Allright

Video iPods in particular as well as other iPods have a defect where the female jack adapter only sends audio to one headphone so it's Apple's fault not your headphones.
