As a bedroom TV, this is great.
Good picture quality.
Easy to use menu system.
Has composite input connections, and HDMI.
Sound is a weak point. Not great. I fiddled with custom equaliser to improve, but it's still fairly weak, lacking in any bass, but then it's not that uncommon in a TV this size.
There is an option to set the sound to external in the menu.
I may get a 2.1 system to rectify this!
OK though, no complaints from the kids.
I bought this TV to replace my 3 year old 14" Hitachi. There is nothing wrong with my Hitachi but I decided to buy a more modern TV with built in freeview. I realised that with the progression of visual technology, I could buy a 19" screen TV that had the same dimensions as my older box.
My first impressions were good. Next to the older TV it looks fresh & modern with the classy black finish & nice build quality.
However, switching it on I straight away noticed the picture quality was not on a par and the sound quality was very tinny.
My older TV has 2 speakers running down either side of the screen but the Samsungs are hidden at the back and are alot smaller. I believe this is where the compromise is. To keep the 19" small enough to compete with 14" TV's dimensions, Samsung have had to cut one vital corner resulting in poor sound quality.
