Great little set of headphones for the price, and perfectly suited for mobile devices. Don't sound great out of the box, but after about 30hrs burn in time they will sound really good, despite their slightly smaller 38mm drivers. (Skullycandy Lowriders have 40mm drivers.)
Sharp, punchy bass without being 'chest thumping'. Good mid range, and separation of the instruments, which can tend to sound a bit muddled in MP3's, especially if they have been ripped using I-Tunes. Good choice if you're into guitar based music.
The only real downsize to these phones is the construction. Although they sound great, they feel extremely fragile, as if they might break if you looked at them the wrong way. In time, the thin plastic covering on the ear pads will flake off, as i have noted with previous phones with similar material, and the wire is the thinnest i have ever seen on a set of headphones. Ironically the manual advises not to fold the wires up, or wrap them around anything, but the way they come packaged is tightly wrapped around themselves, with twizzle sticks wrapped so tightly around the wire that they have actually marked the plastic.
In summing up, for 16:99 they are a great little pair of headphones, especially after sufficient burn in, and much better than the similar equivalent from Skullycandy; the Lowriders. Just be careful with them as they could break very easily. This is the only reason that i gave them 4 instead of 5 stars
