Truth be told, I'm somewhat lost for words with this TV!
Before I made my purchase I did a ton of research about this LED tech, Samsung are kind of misleading people when they call it an "LED TV" - whilst its true that LEDs do light the screen, it's still an LCD panel.
A really good one, but still an LCD.
BUT, because of the LEDs this TV performs much better than your bog standard LCD. The contrast is amazing, the black levels astounding, the colour is incredibly vivid and is reproduced accurately.
It's also MEGA THIN - about 29mm, which is practially picture frame thickness, I've used the Samsung wallmount with my set and it is literally like a picture frame on the wall!
Picture quality as I've already said is fantastic; of course you are limited by the source material, NTSC DVD's will look pretty pants, but they do on any TV of this size, Sky HD is fantastic but Blu-Ray is really where it's at for this set.
Cloverfield was INCREDIBLE, given how dark the movie can be (in both senses of the word), this series of TV's are uniquely suited to preserving the athmosphere! The Dark Knight was also amazing, especially the IMAX scenes.
The 100Hz works very well although in Quantum of Solace right at the start over the water there was some strange "tearing", like on a PC game with v-sync off - it doesnt ruin your experience but on a TV of this price you'd expect a little more.
That said sometimes I feel the 100Hz can ruin things totally, for example watching Stargate Atlantis on Sky 2, it felt as I was actually watching people in a room through a window rather than in a TV show, this might sound amazing but personally it kind of ruined the show so I had to disable it for that time.
But don't let me put you off, this TV is amazing and is worth every last penny, What HIFI didn't give it 5 stars for nothing!!
If you're in the market for a new TV and don't mind paying a bit of a premium for new tech then I would definately recommend this TV!
