I found it and excellent subtitute of money. Picture output is crystal clear and the video recording is also very good. Battery timing is also very good... A fantastic gift/present for your loved ones.

This little camera is absolutely brilliant for the price, although you will be spending money on added extras like a tripod as it doesn't stand up by itself - so this is something to bear in mind.

Recording quality is pretty great and although there isn't a huge array of ISO/light settings, they are adequate for most amateur movie-makers out there. This is going to be just what you need if you want to make home movies or for recording on Youtube; the quality is great and although not full HD, it performs very well and gives good results.

I would completely disagree with the reviewer below who rated it 1 star for the reason that you can't edit the footage and that there was no software included. I often find included software with electronic goods cumbersome, poorly-conceived and lacking in the features I need, so this camcorder leaves it to you to decide what you want to use instead of forcing its own software on you.

Furthermore, I can edit the footage very comfortably using iMovie on my Macbook and have had no problems at all; I can open the files in Quicktime with no issues, and can also use it in Windows Media/Movie Maker on another machine with no problems either.

I do have two small problems with this camera: internal memory and the sound quality. The internal memory is pretty small if you're recording in HD (about 32 seconds) and is no use to anybody - so I feel like Sanyo could have amped this up, especially for those people who don't routinely have SD cards floating around at home.

As regards the sound - there is slight distortion and it does fuzz a little - but it's not a deal-breaker for me - and the quality of file I'm getting more than makes up for it.

The zoom is not as good as I'd like, but it's functional and works well enough for me to zoom in to particular objects without losing quality or focus.

All in all, it's a really user-friendly camera to use and doesn't take much reading of the instruction manual to figure out what button does what. It's a good little machine for hobbyists and I would definitely purchase this again - you're going to get excellent value for money.

This is a great product and i would just like to say yes you can edit it on windows movie maker live. easy to transfer from SD card to laptop and i use windows movie maker all the time to edit my videos

Firstly, thanks Play for an excellent service as usual. Camcorder arrived fine with no problems as normal. On the outset, this is a sleek, stylish looking camcorder that looks and feels very professional. The picture is fairly reasonable, and I agree with other reviewers about lag between taking pictures and frame rates, however remember that it is a cheap 100 pound camcorder. However, and this is the camcorders REAL problem. It comes with absolutely NO software to edit or download. The camcorder records all footage in Quicktime MPEG-4 format which cannot be played on Windows Media Player or Windows Movie Maker. It can only be VIEWED on a standard PC or TV. You cannot edit, use or even burn to DVD without purchasing additional software. I bought the camcorder to use on a family holiday and it was perfect for that. Now, I'm home I cannot even burn the footage to a DVD. I contacted Sanyo and they were totally unhelpful. I refuse to shell out for a simple file convertor or DVD burner so the camcorder is useless for making and keeping home movies. This is a major fault and one that needs to be rectified by Sanyo. Loads of people have this issue with this camcorder so make sure you can convert the files or have file converting / burning software before purchasing.

This is a brilliant product for a camcorder alone. Brilliant Price and good quality. But with the Digital Camera aspect of this aswell. It is brilliant for the price. Definite Buy.

I'll start by saying thanks Play, I ordered it on Tues evening, posted on Wed morning and arrived on the friday, great service. Well the camera has been tested at the beach today and the quality of the video footage is really very good. I can't fault the HD quality and the photo image is better than my 7.1 mgp stand alone camera. Its light weight and easy to use, it looks and feels good the only downside is the naf lens cap but I can live with that. I also found it to be very easy to download the footage onto my pc, I just plugged it in with the usb lead provided and wam, it was done. Overall 9/10 I would give it a 10 if the optical zoom was better. If you're looking for a cheap good quality camera/camcorder for your hols then, I STRONGLY SUGGEST BUYING THIS ONE.

Just got my hands on this camera and Im really happy with my purchase. The HD video is great and the camera quality is actually better than I thought. Memory and battery can be upgraded which I highly recommend.
