Got this few months ago, have had no problems with it.
Excellent battery lasting around 2 hours. Quality of video is amazing especially at fullHD 60fps but even at lower settings video Quality is always good and there is a good variety of rec quality options. Sound pic up is standard same as many other camcorders I have used, but good thing is you can plug in a external mic (got excellent results with perfect audio and you can also monitor sound levels with headphones as you are recording).
Photos are really clear and detailed with different options including standard or wide-screen mode. Printed photos at a large size and results are excellent.
It wont take long to get use to the shape and the way you hold the camera, and its really each one hand operation with all the controls you need easy to access with one finger.
The screen is really big and clear and makes using the device very easy and the lens is a good size allowing lots of light in to give recordings a clear and sharp image.
On a 16GB card i can get around 4000photos or 1:45min video at full quality settings.
You can fit it in your pocket and dont have to carry around a still and video camera, now I have both in one device that gives excellent quality photos and video and its tiny!
If you dont have a steady hand your video can get very shaky at first! after a few days playing with it you should be fine, i dont have a very steady hand but you learn how to use it best and get the hang of how to use it with out shaking so much! It has options in the menu for digital stabilisation for video and photos. I now use it with Video stabiliser off and photo stabiliser on. I find that works best with me. You have to decide really what important for you, I use loads of camcorders both professional and home ones like this and the main factor is the size, the smaller the camera the more it will shake.
Only other bad point is you can notice in the videos that recordings are not that great in poor lighting conditions. This is due to the fact it uses a CMOS sensor and not CCD. This issue is a general one with all camcorders that use CMOS as in low light conditions CCD camcorders will always be much better but the good thing i can say here about this camcorder is all the extra controls it has hidden away if you want to use them it has manual overrides so you can get decent results with this camcorder in low light conditions if you turn it off auto and use the great manual controls it gives you in the menu.
Most definitely a great piece of kit - I had used loads of other brand camcorders before like Sony Panasonic JVC etc and was not sure about Sanyo but now i can say that this Sanyo HD2000 is as good as and probably the best available in this price range (around£500) as the competitors cant match the quality output in photos/ video at this price.
