For people who dont know, Blu-Ray was mastered by Sony so what else can a top end Sony unit do other than deliver the best..?

The calibration mic is a great feature which lets you set up your system and them calibrates exactly what speaker should do what,,,
maybe a little fussy but trust me youl hear the difference...!!!

I have to say tho,, the sub is beyond AWSOME!.. deep and full body bass..

I settled on this sony system after reading reviews and researching most of the availble blu-ray systems on the market. I have had 3 previous samsung systems, all of which packed up relatively quickly after purchase but this sony system has quality written all over it. The blu ray player with its 2.0 profile, simply gives outstanding picture quality along with all the lateste BD live features if thats what your into. (I have a series 6 Samsung 100HZ LCD TV connected to the sony system). Upscaling normal DVD's to near 1080 quality is a walk in the park for the sony. The sound quality from this system is brilliant both through CD's, DVD's and Blu-ray. The adjustable trebel and bass is an excellent feature which allows you to fine tune the sound to your liking. The speakers are small yet punchy and the sub woofer delivers deep booming bass aplenty. Films such as the dark knight and james bond sound just perfect with realistic gun fire and explosions through the surround speakers.… more »

Connect the system to your TV with a Monster HDMI cable and Optical cable and you have the perfect set up, and yes its worth spending a bit of money on the cables just to reduce any losses you get through the standard cables. The IPOD dock works a treat and you can still control and play all your favourite music through the IPOD itself. (I have an IPOD Touch 2nd gen). Im sure if you have the kind of money to burn there maybe better systems available to you but purely on cost, i doubt you will find better than this. What hifi rated this 5 stars and i agree with everything they had to say but please go and get a demo to satisfy yourself before you buy, you will not be dissapointed !!
One final word is that its easy to set up through the caibration Mic and if your looking for the ultimate item to finish this set off, then purchase the Sony WAHT-SA1, the wireless amp which allows you have the rear surround speakers at the back of your room, wireless and it works perfect, no loss in sound at all !
