I agree with everything that the other reviewer said and their setting recommendations for this model certainly allow you to take some stunning pictures. All in all a great point-and-click camera - well recommended and a steal at this price!

For the price, this is an excellant camera

I'm a long term Canon fan, but was recently looking for a second camera, and one which I could take on nights out, stick in my rucksack, and to always be there "just in case". I basically wanted a camera which would do the business, but not cost much.

If you're going to spend serious money on a camera, let's face it - you're going to buy a Canon, or a Panasonic (Lumix). Both are outstanding.
For the budget option though, I had the choice of Fuji, Samsung or Nikon - with a couple of makes you "just wouldn't"!

Fuji I've never had anything but disappointment with - and a test drive of a cheap one confirmed this - truely awful pictures.
This Samsung though left me speechless in surprise.

At one time, Samsung made mediocre cameras, they have however the experts agree, come on in leaps and bounds - and this little camera doesn't let the side down.

It ticks all the boxes you might want. It's compact and pocket sized. It takes a rechargable battery, it looks "sexy" - definately, albeit a tiny bit plasticy when you see it close up.
Most of all, it truely takes incredible pictures. Colour is faithful, and in daylight at least, it's hard to distinguish between photo and reality in colour. Snaps are sharp and true.

To get the best out of this camera, you do need to change a few of the default settings. I'd recommend -
Turn on face recognition - as well as an excellant feature, this helps get a really good focus.
Change from fine to superfine - you want the best pictures after all.
If space on a memory card is crucial, it will do no harm to drop your megapixel from 10 to 7. I did this, and it will still print easily up to a massive size, be honest - you don't need 10mp usually.

Do this, and you'll get stunning images, in fact, it's giving better pictures than my slightly older Canon! I can't give better praise than that. I'm even thinking of using this instead of the Canon in future.

For a "going out" camera, this is the top ideal choice. For something a tiny bit more creative - it also fits the bill. There are a few settings to play with, to give a picture a sepia or black and white affect. Really though, you can do this in photoshop.
For real creative shots....you'd be better looking at something else of course.

To summarise

Pros -
Sexy look and make
Reasonable price
Superb quality images for the price - this just doesn't look like a budget camera at all when it comes to image - and believe me, I'm fussy. You do have to adjust the settings though as suggested.

Cons -
Limited for much other than point and shoot
Feels a little bit plasticy if that troubles you (but is not the worst camera on the market for this)
It may be budget, but it's still a serious price.
If this was over £200, it would be disappointing, at the price it is, it's more than a bargain.
