I have this TV and it is a brilliant piece of kit.
Not equal to the US version?
Some people complain that it doesn't have as many calibration options as the comparative model in other countries, but this is not a real world problem as it has a pre-calibrated THX mode which gives the end user a one click accurate calibration.
Quality
One highly understated feature of the V10 is the quality of its upscaler, this is the circuitry that takes a standard definition (SD) sources (E.G. Freeview or SCART) and increases the resolution to that of the panel.
On a lot of HD TVs the SD picture looks blurry, exposes large amounts of noise, gets the colours wrong, or a selection of these. Whilst the V10 cannot turn a sow's ear into a silk purse it manages to get brilliant pictures from even quite poor quality signals and given a good quality source (E.G. DVD or BBC's SD Freesat feeds) the picture is exceptional.
HD
Here the picture quality is fantastic, perfectly balanced and crisp without being over sharp. The THX mode is a delight as it allows you to easily set it up for a film from the moment the TV is unpacked and connected.
Freesat
Currently there is a complete dearth of HD content being transmitted for free (BBC HD, the odd program on ITV1 and a channel you can manually tune in called LUXE HD). When you can get it HD over Freesat is brilliant.
That said the other Freesat Channels tend to be of higher quality than their equivalents on Freeview, noticeably a bit sharper and with less digital noise. Freesat also gives you a digital output for a surround sound system which works flawlessly.
Networking and connectivity
The TV has a network port along with the usual connectors and this has a multiple purpose:
Viera Cast
This is Pansonic's internet media portal. Or Youtube, Picasa and Eurosport directly on the TV. It works excellently and is easy to use. This feature gets regular hammer in my household!
DLNA
If your media lives on your computer, this TV can display it. Supplied with the TV is a licence for a media server (twonkyvision) that you install on your computer and then you can browse and view the media on it. Media is limited to DivX video and pictures.
SD Card slot.
If you have an SD or SDHC fed digital camera this TV will display media from it. Seeing your photographs on a large HD display is impressive, particularly for landscapes.
The SD will also play back Divx movies and some of the new HD video formats, though I haven't tried this.
Conclusion
If you want a smart looking, easy to use TV with all the bells and whistles the V10 will not disappoint you..
