this tv is excellent the high contrast knoks spots of ones at similar price. the reason why i rated it 4/5 not 5/5 is because WARNING:to buy the dvd player select it in the basket too, play.com kindly fixed my problem. another WARNING (2): the dvd player comes with no cables at all to connect to TV so make sure you get/got some! hope you enjoy TV as much as i am :)
I have always found Toshiba products to be excellent and when my son was after a big screen on a limited budget there really was no question the brand we'd recommend. TV is excellent picture quality really good and the controls are intuitive. Digital programme guide is easy to use and has full functionality unlike some. Connecting the Playstation and Xbox (HDMI) is a breeze and so many inputs I can't see them ever all being used. Viewing angle is good, TV is mounted fairly high on the wall and unneccesary to tilt it unlike the previous Samsung.
In fact I was so impressed I bought a second for the kitchen.
The picture quality on this tv is fantastic even though it is 720p/1080i,i use this tv to watch blu-ray and i can say it looks amazing.
All this debate about 1080i/1080p is just nonsense,sure 1080p has an edge over 1080i/720p but to be honest its not that much of a greater leap for me to upgrade to 1080p as im happy with the hd quality this tv gives out.
This also has a handy NATIVE setting when watching a blu-ray or DVD which means that when activated you see the whole picture of the movie that gives a better picture and resolution,but it makes the black lines slightly bigger but at least you are watching the whole movie.
I think that the TV is Brilliant, nice treat for my bedroom and the free DVD player was an absolute bargain. no complaints there.
However, i went to connect my Xbox 360 HD lead and it said "Not supported" Does anyone know why this has happened?
just arrived today however im unable to connect my ps3 to it via HDMI, or any sorta cable for that matter, now im gonna have to fork out for a more advanced cable.
