Samsung BD-P4600 Blu-ray Player

This is a brilliant machine - I bought this and the new LED samsung. Both hung on my wall and looks stunning. The quality of the blu ray is exceptional, miles better than the ps3 which i have as well. I cannot say a bad word about it and when connected to my sound system it is amazing!!

The DVD playback is upscaled but I am not a fan of any upscaled DVDs and most of mine are now redundant as I wont watch them. It is good, but once you made the 'switch' it never looks as good.
On a plus note, the DVD playback is multi region, so at least it will play your entire back catalogue!

Went for this player as its the only one i could find that you can wall mount.read loads of reviews on this blue-ray player good+bad.it was easy to fit the attachment to the back of the player.the bracket that goes on the wall does;nt come with rawl plugs or screws so you will need 4 each of your own.the player was easy to fit to the wall.connected it to my wall mounted toshiba 37inch 1080p lcd tv with a 1.5 metre fisuall install series hdmi cable. Played the dark knight +knowing blue-ray discs.the picture quality was outstanding so clear, sharpe and detailed.even my other half was impressed so its got to be good.there was a slight fan noise but once the movie starts you dont hear anything.i had no lip sync issues like some people have had with this player.the player looks great with its glossy black piano finish.glad i got this player picture quality is outstanding

As soon as i saw this player i knew i had to have it and i wasnt dissapointed at all but theres just 2 things i want to say for any one who is thinkin of purchasing one
1. The first time you play a dvd you may find the machine makes quite a noise when disc is loading and playing but i think its just the 1st time but after that theres no problem.
2. The machine is not multi region, you have to mess about with firmware and codes so i just didnt bother
Overall a excellent gadget to add to any collection

The 4600 is an excellent, and well priced Blu Ray player from Samsung. The picture quality is second to none and the wireless features make life a lot easier when updating! Wall mounting is a bonus! But, the above review is misleading as it does not play back any dvd other than Region 2

I bought this as the wall mountability was really useful to me. The player is faultless. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because at this price wireless connectivity should be included. I had to pay an extra 50ukp for a wireless dongle. Additionally the newer players give more functionality with regards to streaming that this one doesnt. There may be a frimware upgrade available to give access to iPlayer etc as the newer ones do but in its current form, with the latest firmware it wont. You can only view YouTube videos.

I bought it elsewhere for about 50ukp less 6 months ago so Google is your friends is all I'll say.

To sum up. If I was buying today, I would forego the wall mount of this and get a similarly priced Samsung Bluray with the functionality mentioned above and inbuilt wifi. I think I have seen one here on Play for about 200ukp.
