So many mazes and puzzles out there that you get bored of so quickly and are soon condemned to a life on a shelf gathering dust. Not this one. "Just one more go, just one more go, I'll be there in a minute, just this next part and we can go" some of the things your friends and family will get sick of hearing you say in between your tears of frustration.

The aim of the game is simple enough; guide the ball bearing through all the stages to the end, but actually completing the mazes is anything but simple!
  • Please note: This item cannot be shipped outside of the UK.
  • The small and large Addict-A-Balls feature completely different mazes. Each sold separately.

 Fun but tedious in parts

The purpose of Addict-a-ball is simple - guide the silver ball around the maze, thus completing all 100 stages of the puzzle.

There is a starting block on which you position the ball to begin, with two handy check-points where you can resume at positions 26 or 59 (out of 100) and believe me, the check-points really are necessary!

To say there are 100 stages to completing the maze is a bit of an exaggeration, as some of the stages involve nothing more than steering the ball around a bend, which is not much of a stage at all - more just a way-point.

For the most part, getting from one stage to the next is fairly easy, however, some parts are extremely tricky, and if the ball falls off you have to go right back to the beginning or the nearest check-point, which can be a long way back, especially if you're near the end!

I appreciate that if the puzzle was 'too' easy you'd have it finished in 5 minutes and then the fun would be gone, but having to do the same stages over and over again just so you can have another shot at the harder parts gets tedious.

The construction of the puzzle is sheer genius - a lot of work has gone into the design, maximising the use of all components within it. There is much variety in the way that the ball is manouvred and takes full advantage of the space inside the sphere.

Overall, this is an enjoyable puzzle that keeps you coming back to it, and I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes this sort of thing.
