Colour Changing Spa Lights

good price for these lights done a price comparison and cant find any cheaper

I bought two packs as a present and was very very disappointed. They are poor quality rubbish that only worked once then let in so much water that they were unusable.

Component-wise these are sound, but the as far as assembly is concerned, it's is a whole separate kettle of fish.

These consist basically of the LED and a switch. The point to point soldering is executed better by GCSE students - seriously! The soldering is carried out inside the plastic case, so even if you're pretty tasty with a soldering iron, some of the contacts may be melted in and beyond repair or removal - without completely destroying each light. I bought a batch of six of these a year ago and the build quality was spot on. Six more from Play.com and only two work straight from the box. Thought I'd write this while my soldering iron warmed up. I expect to be fine filing the edges to get the units water tight too!

When these are lit up and in the bath, they look great. They would be a brilliant gift...however.

We soon discovered quite a few little problems. Firstly, they are about as watertight as a colander, they had to be bailed about more often than they were actually on. Secondly, they aren't very receptive to 'tinkering' from dads who think they know about these things. A couple of hints - don't try putting the batteries in the wrong way cos 'they don't look right'. This will lead to the LED going mental, snapping itself and flying at your face. Also, be careful. The contacts then following the bulb on its quest for freedom and we are now left with two useless lumps of plastic and a small child who no longer has her christmas present...not that she really cares it would seem.

Got one of these some weeks ago and thought were fantastic so I came back and bought a few more to make great stocking fillers, these are great.
Probably need more after xmas.
