Yes it's a gimmick, but it's actually VERY PRACTICAL, see for yourself:

Pros:
* Well crafted, nice paper feel.
* Porcelain is very easy to clean.
* Does not mark or stain.
* Sturdy reusable lid - does not crack or leak.
* Insulation (cavity) works very effectively.
* Holds about the right amount. (~500ml)
* Comfortable to use - much nicer to hold than a mug.
* Fits perfectly into my car cup holder.
* Doesn't spill while you're driving.
* Solid, (but: "I would probably break if you dropped me.")
* Best price around. ( £3 cheaper than most other places AND no postage. )

Cons:
* Expensive for a mug - but to be fair - better than a mug.
* As heavy as a mug.
* Lid smells strongly of silicone at first. Right up against your nose puts you off your first drink (Again to be fair, barely noticable after 4th use.)

Who'd have said there'd to be so much to say about a simple white replica cup?

For me to put a title as i have above must mean that this product is well good the drink inside is well hot while out side its cool to the touch carefull when you take ur first sip ;) i have broken my neck and damaged my spinal cord and as a result i have no ability to feel texture which makes holding a glass very hard but this cup has a ruff'nd outer shell which i feel safe holding this by far is my fav of all my mugs and cups and i have alot as i collect mugs lol in my opinion buy it enjoy it a+++++++

Nice size to hold, looks like a papercup up close (hence no porcelain glaze effect), easy to drink out of, clean and simple fun! Great insulation too which is really designed well - that was my main concern. Have fun!

I was pretty excited when these finally came back into stock and i ordered 2 asap. At work we often take mugs to the local coffee shop for their delicious coffee. The distance from shop to desk resulted in spills and temperature loss.

The cups are lovely things to behold and should keep your coffee hot longer. However, i am not impressed with the quality of the product as neither was perfect and one is not suitable for use at all. One had a random lump of pot and glaze in the bottom, this one seems to work ok but arguably should have been rejected by some quality control. The other has a loose top or an undersized rim resulting in leakage. I am writing this review with pools of coffee on my desk and dribbles down my front. Without the lid the cup is difficult to drink from it has a lip designed to keep the silicone top on the cup which leads to liquid dripping at either side of your mouth. Result- a dribbly, difficult to use, expensive mug without a handle.

i bought this as a christmas present and the cheaper version for myself, this is way better than the cheaper version. Doesnt get hot so you can hold it without a rubber protecter, also means doesnt let the heat escape. and feels a lot better too. wish i had got myself this one.
