  Top film and smart gadget!

This film is amazing and a must own for any Trekkie, semi-trekkie or just an action film fan! The USB gadget itself is a decent size and can be used for storage other than keeping the film on it, however it is slightly impractical compared to smaller USB drives out there. However, its cool and looks good on my shelf next to my DVD's, Blu-rays and other media =)

Bought this for a friend on his birthday, the look on his face when he seen it was good enough for me :)
i was really surprised at how well presented it came also.

Firstly. I would like to say how pleasantly surprised I was with the item. The casing is of a highly polished metal finish with a good weight to it. It comes as a limited edition collector's item in a tin with its unique serial number. A mini USB lead is also supplied. Setting up was hassle - free. The film plays beautifully. It can be downloaded to your PC or laptop. The item is so good I am going to buy another. Well worth the money. I have just seen it on sale on one of the shopping channels for £ 19.99 plus £ 4.99 postage on top. So well done play.com.

  Looks good!

As far as memory sticks go it's good quality. If you drop it you're more likely to damage the floor than the flash drive. It's a nice little collectors item and if you have 5-6 officially certified DivX players then your sorted. If you however have a DivX player that doesn't have its own registration code then it wont work. If your just going to watch it on your computer you'll be fine. The option to burn to dvd is a bit mis-leading too as you can burn the DivX file to a dvd but not in the normal dvd format which would have allowed you to waych it on any normal dvd player. Also, like the memory stick, the burnt DivX dvd will only work on registered DivX equipment. Buy it as an ornament or a USB stick for carrying around files but if you simply want to watch the film on your TV buy the standard dvd.

Where's the option to burn to DVD?

| | See all warpfactor's reviews (1)

This is a lovely quality USB stick with a pretty good film on it and the quality of the movie itself is good too.

However, it advertises an option to Burn to DVD that I can't find anywhere. None of the DVD burning programs I have support DivX files.

Any suggestions?

Firstly, the film itself is brilliant. Im no film critic but i can say that the film mixes a variety of emotions brilliantly together. The Special effects are brilliant and the story is of course gripping to the very end and then some.

The device is also brilliant. A solid USB drive, the casing to it is metal which makes it a good weight ;not too heavy to break your usb hub, but not too light to loose either. The presentation tin is also excellent and a definate star trck collectors piece.

The reason im only giving this 4 stars is the format the film is in. It took 10 minutes from plugging in, to starting the film due to having to download and register to DIVX player. It concerns me that i may also loose the ability to watch the film once my 6 devices have been replaced with better tech. I know the option to burn to DVD is there but then id have a tesco DVD-R with a label on, rather than the official DVD. This would be perfect if it was like the Family guy something something special edition and came with the official DVD for viewing, and this digital copy on the awesome star trek usb stick. (FG put its digital copy onto a CD)

Really though a Star trek fan will love it, and at 10 British pound sterling (correct at time of writing) its a bloody good bargain.

  Fantastic !!!

Download keeps on failing. Why can't these things be plug and play. There is plenty of space on it for divx.So if i cannot sort it all i am left with is a device i cannot use.Won't buy another.
