the clock was a bit smaller than i had expected it to be, and very lightweight.
it sits on the shelf well but because the glass is bubble shaped it catches reflections of the light from all angles and distorts vision, so it is impossible to read the time unless you are facing the clock exactly head on. i left it on the shelf for novelty value as an ornament but it is no good at all as a functioning clock.
it also ticks very loudly.
Like others have said out of the box it does feel slightly 'tacky' as the silver look around the edge is plastic and would have looked better made out of a silvery sprayed metal. Despite this when you final put it on a shelf it looks great with a retro look to it. If your buying this product its more to own a wacky clock that looks cool and is a talking point rather then telling the time as you wont be able to accurately tell the time from the clock.
Personally i think from a distance it looks great and i would defiantly recommend this clock.
If you don't mind an Arabic (12345) numbered clock, go ahead, but I only bought this because the roman numerals shown in the picture made this stylish enough to counter the plasticy finish and cheap manufacture as described in other reviews. Very dissapointed, would be sending it back if it were for me rather than for a friend.
If you don't mind 12345 numbers as shown in some pictures though, go ahead. It's not too bad.
If you look at the clock head on it looks great! If you look at it from the side, you will see that the corners of the melted back of the clock don't fit well on the corner of your shelf (or whatever it's on). The battery pack makes it stick out a bit so it breaks the illusion.
Also, you will notice Play have multiple pictures, I was expecting a clock with Roman numerals but got a clock with regular numbers.
