This 45cm radio-controlled interactive Dalek responds to spoken commands, alongside traditional radio control functions via a special multi-function control unit. With its independent head, body and eye movement, as well as multiple sensory inputs - including touch - this really is the 'supreme being in the universe'.
  • This Dalek has several built-in operating modes including: voice programmable movement, 'independent battle alert' mode and 'enemy locator' mode, where it will find and track a moving object
  • It's also got static and roving room guard modes, and it even remembers and reacts to Doctor Who characters. Then there's the Dalek's little game to find where the Doctor's hiding...

First the simple bit. It has full remote controll capability with two levers for movement in all directions including spinning round on the spot, and a further two levers for left/ right and up/down movement of the eye stalk, and a button to press for around thirty phrases with syncronous light flashing.
Now for the clever bit. This thing contains microphones for voice recognition, body heat sensors to track people, and passive infrared sensors to work in the dark. Switch it into voice mode and it really comes to life. It responds to your voice and talks back to you. For example, say to it 'dalek' and it will respond 'yes'. Then say 'do you recognise' and its lights will flash once, then say to it 'the doctor' or 'the cybermen' or any number of pre programmed phrases and it will react differently to each one, moving around on its own and talking. Mention the Emporer and it quivers like a jelly!!
Tell it 'follow me' and it will respond ' I obey' then literally follows you around the room, tracking you with its body heat sensors. If you move, it turns in your direction and keeps coming. If it loses you it patrolls the room till it spots you and comes after you again. It doesn't bump into things either, as it approaches an obstacle it stops before bumping into it then turns and heads off in another direction. Hide, and it will wander around the room till it finds you, then it approaches you and stops.
There are many more things it will do on voice command such as locating people in a room the exterminating them, guarding a location against unauthorised entry and more but the interaction to your voice is superb.
The eye stalk lights an authentic blue and the exterminator gun lights blue at the end when it exterminates you along with the authentic gun noise.
Its quite spooky when it's patrolling the room then spots you sitting on the sofa, it will shuffle towards you, stop right in front of you, then the eye stalk raises up to look right at you and it screams 'identify yourself'. If you dont respond favourably it exterminates you then turns and wanders off!!
All in all an impressive piece of kit - I might let my son play with it one day........

this is a fantastic toy, about the biggest dalek they will ever make in this range,it must be a loss leader.it doesnt need its remote control unit ( WHICH LETS THE BUILD QUALITY DOWN)otherwise i think it could be a good investment in the future.its too good for kids it does have a certain fragile element to it even though its a dalek,it needs to be looked after & played with respect.all said & done really good value for your money,in my oppinion may well not be repeated in this scale for the price,it really does look the part.

As a first time user found it a great shopping experience
