  Stealthy but very fragile

| | See all coling1953's reviews (1)

This boat performs reasonably well but does not match the write ups or the hype. Battery life is about 10 minutes on a full charge and it nips along fairly briskly. Mine has never turned as sharply as some of the videos suggest. The main problem is the very fragile hull, it is made of eggshell thin plastic which literally shatters on the mildest of impacts, I have had to repair mine twice so far with superglue and P38 bodyfiller then spray it up. If you are serious about getting into R/C boats this will give you a cheap taste, but you are best advised to save your money and buy a better boat as this is not much more than a toy.

  Great fun

I bought one for my future bro in law for Christmas. He and the lads had hours of fun out and about with this. My sister and I had great peace. My niece and nephews loved it too so I am now purchasing another one for my nephew as its his birthday this month. I would highly recommend it.

  Great value for money

I think the first reviewer was unlucky, I followed another reviews advise and taped over the air intakes and found that this boat is excellent. Great value, fast , impressive, I am considering putting one into stock because I intend to use this boat a lot .all in all a fantastic buy.

Heard positive things so had one bought for my 21st. After much excitment took it for a spin and it just about managed to move for a few mins before stopping. After numerous trys and even a new battery pack its never gone for more than 20 seconds. Mine may be a dodgy one but from my experience, dont buy!

Great boat but there is a design flaw.

Got my boat and I was well impressed at first. I took it out on my local boating lake and after 10 mins or so it started to develop power porblems, I brought it back in and opened it up to find a load of water inside it. It seems that the 2 vents on the top of the boat have let in a load of water. I drained it all out but after this the power is on all the time even when the boat is out of the water. I am at this time trying to dry it out and see if I can get this working correctly again. It might have to go back to Play.com. But I really do want this boat to work and if you tape up the 2 vents on the top then it should be fairly water tight. So if you are thinking of one of these, do this before you go anywhere near the water or you could have the same problems I got right now.

UPDATE, I have now dried out the boat and it is working fine once again, so please make sure you block up these 2 holes before you go near the water.

This goes like an absolute rocket. Ive owned cars that were slower and steered better than this thing. Put it onto any boating lake and youll be humming the music from the chase scene from "Live and Let Die" just like I was. This thing actually rode over other boats on the lake. Get one now!!!
