This boat performs reasonably well but does not match the write ups or the hype. Battery life is about 10 minutes on a full charge and it nips along fairly briskly. Mine has never turned as sharply as some of the videos suggest. The main problem is the very fragile hull, it is made of eggshell thin plastic which literally shatters on the mildest of impacts, I have had to repair mine twice so far with superglue and P38 bodyfiller then spray it up. If you are serious about getting into R/C boats this will give you a cheap taste, but you are best advised to save your money and buy a better boat as this is not much more than a toy.
I think the first reviewer was unlucky, I followed another reviews advise and taped over the air intakes and found that this boat is excellent. Great value, fast , impressive, I am considering putting one into stock because I intend to use this boat a lot .all in all a fantastic buy.
Got my boat and I was well impressed at first. I took it out on my local boating lake and after 10 mins or so it started to develop power porblems, I brought it back in and opened it up to find a load of water inside it. It seems that the 2 vents on the top of the boat have let in a load of water. I drained it all out but after this the power is on all the time even when the boat is out of the water. I am at this time trying to dry it out and see if I can get this working correctly again. It might have to go back to Play.com. But I really do want this boat to work and if you tape up the 2 vents on the top then it should be fairly water tight. So if you are thinking of one of these, do this before you go anywhere near the water or you could have the same problems I got right now.
UPDATE, I have now dried out the boat and it is working fine once again, so please make sure you block up these 2 holes before you go near the water.
