Star Wars: Force FX Lightsaber Construction Set - Online UK Exclusive!

this is a must for any starwars fans, especially KOTOR game players who have constructed their own lightsabers!! (you all know what i mean!!!) i spent 5 hours with this today and i have already made 15 different combinations!!!

A few things to bear in mind before you buy this FX Lightsaber.
1. It's 5 Inches shorter then a normal FX (Yoda's excluded).
2. It only has one, strong LED light (which means no dead spots so it's ideal for duelling but obviously it doesn't "rise" out of the hilt as well).
3. Mostly high quality plastic parts with a few metal ones (still very good quality and perhaps ideal for the younger jedi).

I reckon so long as you're aware of these facts, you should be very happy with it and won't be at all disappointed!

i baght one of these couse i have a few force fx sabers
but im afraid 2 damager them couse of the electronics in the blade so like i said i got one of these
i love the couler chaingin blade dint realy like the plastic hilt pices but making it look like luke (ROTJ) or obi wan looks pritty cool
and then i came up with a mint idea so i baght a second and riveted two of the end caps 2gether 2 make a couler chaingeing double and i love it so i rate this saber 9 out of 10

This is really nice has a good weight in the handle not too light. The blade is quite durable (Smashed my room light with it) Multicolour blade is a nice feature. This is my first saber but there will be many more i love it even just building different handles is fun. Really nice for creating your own hilt for display.

The first thing to remember is that this kit is an entirely different product from first principles upwards compared to the other Force FX sabers. Yes it has plastic (and metal!) parts, and a short blade. Some sacrifices are necessary for the astonishing versatility of this kit at this very reasonable price. Come on, over a thousand hilt combinations, three blade colours and two sound schemes? Vader, Luke, Anakin, Yoda and Obi-Wan in the same package? Nobody can expect perfection at £50.

Problems, yes. The plastic parts can feel a bit loose, but that is easily solved by putting a couple of strips of sticky tape down the outside of the central core. The big problem for me was the blade. It is 5" shorter than the other FX's and doesn't glow too well, especially in daylight - the bottom half is a lot brighter than the top. If you have any DIY inclinations, a full length aftermarket mod blade with a fiber optic film core will transform this kit instantly. The three-colour LED and 2-tone sound card present an interesting challenge to the DIY-er. Purple, pink, yellow, orange and cyan blades with jedi or sith sound fx are all accessible with your soldering iron - search youtube and the hobbyist forums. That's without even considering the sinktube possibilities.

In original condition, you will need to weigh up the pros and cons of this saber. It does feel more like a gadget than a serious collectable. But if you are willing to get your hands dirty and have some skill in electronics, this is definately the saber for you.
