  A superb Christmas Present

| | See all melzebabes's reviews (1)

I saw this on the gadget show and my boyfriend's eyes lit up - so i thought what the heck I'll get it as an additional Christmas present for him and well - he loved it. The first thing he did was look on u-tube and found some demos so we soon had a go at Happy Birthday ( we both nailed this - very good) then we took it down to the pub to play it to our friend for her birthday and very soon after there was a male bonding session going on - i think Don't shoot the Sheriff was made up and soon played by all. This is a bargain for any non musical musicians who are up for learning something new in 2012......1 slight annoying thing is the cable on the stylus as it makes it difficult to replace it in the slot - but this is only minor and I understand the practicality of it.

Packed with features and hours of fun!

After waiting 2 weeks and still no stylophone I noticed that it was a 4-6 week dispatch time on this product. It was dispatched shortly after i checked and did arrive eventually. Not something to buy in a rush. Thats the only bad point!

I have spent a few hours now just mucking around with it perfecting happy birthday and twinkle twinkle. If you are after music to play with it then you should be able to play piano music on it as it has the same key layout. The manual has a few songs to get you started off too!

Its got a few more features than the description states too. Its got a vibrato function to play all sounds in a vibrato style, a switch to change tones from low, med, high. There is also a input 3.5mm jack so you can play songs from your mp3 player through the stylophone speaker and play along to them. It also has a headphone output which is useful if you don't want anyone to hear. I guess this could also provide an output to an amp if you wanted to go professional. Most unexpected thing it has is a tuning knob underneath which allows you to tune keys so that you can fit all of your notes onto the small keyboard!

I've taken it to a few lectures at uni and everyone thinks its great fun. Well worth the money!

Classic toy which still has charms

This can be very entertaining if you are the one that is using it, for the other people around it can be quite annoying. Very easy to use, but it also has optional more advanced features. Very good idea, good size, and overall a good buy!

You can get music for the stylophones ...

Stylophones are great fun! I found Christmas song books for mine on Ebay. They're easy to follow and make it much more interesting if you have some well known songs to play.

  A great little buy!

Quickly delivered (3 days) & a great piece of equipment.
Hours of fun for you (but not for the mrs who gets tired of it after hearing Beat It by Michael Jackson for the 30th time).
Very much recommended.
PS You can do the intro from The Osmonds Crazy Horses just by using the pitch changer on the bottom. Thats worth the price alone!!

  A gd laugh

I got this a couple of days ago and its the funniest thing ive bought, its a gd laugh to play wiv mates and to play classic retro tunes like the tetris theme, theres also a few effects to mess around with which makes it funnier to play, a great little toy.

  Very Good Present!

I got my little brother this for his birthday in july, and he hasn't put it down since. It is good fun to mess around with and very easy to get the hang of. The only problems are that it is hard to find music designed for stylophone users to use, and that it can be annoying when you are not playing it!
But overall it is very good and the price is spot on!
