Magical Chinese Flying Lantern

We let off 10 to mark our 1 year anniversary in our new home, we had a party and half way through we let them off. We had informed our local police as not to cause distress if they would have been contacted. What a brilliant idea, also have some for the next party/gathering.

These are truely gorgeous when set off.
They werent too popular over here in Ireland until they were mistaken for UFO's.
Now everyone's buying them.

I bought 2 of these to try out as they weren't expensive and i had possible future plans with them in mind!

There is no work or setting up involved, just light it and go! It filled up with air and started to look like a filled out hot air balloon before you knew it. It seemed to raise slowly to start with and then really take off. I didn't think it appeared windy, but when it got as high as our house height it suddenly shot off (wind i assume) and headed away from us. If you're expecting it to go straight up, as in most pictures you may have seen or as i did, then make sure it's a perfectly calm day or night. Also, I did have a little trouble lighting the fuel block (used about 6 or 7 matches i think), maybe use a lighter!

Overall, a good product.

These are great - look really good , especially if you let several off.
Please use responsibly though - these have been mistaken for distress flares when used near the coast and life guards called out.

I bought one of these in France before they became popular in the UK for 17.99 so what a bargain at only 2.29!!

We sent these up on new years eve to remember our mum and dad who had died that year. It was a real special moment and helped us to include them in our celebrations.
They are fantastic.

Bought this for a friend for christmas. They loved it! tip from them is you have to be patient.....pull it all out, light it and then keep holding onto it. DONT throw it up in the air...hold it up and it will eventually lift up on its own! be patient. They did this on a freezing night and it took about 8 minutes to lift off but apparently it was well worth the wait!! brilliant buy!!

I bought 5 of these for my family to let off on Christmas Eve and they were brilliant. They took a bit of patience and skill to get lit but that was part of the fun to be honest. All of them lit and floated far ((and high)) off into the distance before burning out. I would definitely buy again

Awesome, really enjoyed it. sent them of in our street and everyone came out to watch, so it got everyone speaking to each other. one nearly hit a house though. GOOD TIMES.

I moved away from home over 5 years ago - so when visiting my family this December for Christmas, I bought one of these to take with me... We absolutly loved it! It took off quicker than we expected, but it was amazing to watch it float away, higher and higher! - It was really lovely and different! Me and my partner have bought one to do on Christmas Day... cant wait! =]
