Hot Bunny Microwavable Bed Warmer

Just received 2 blue bunnies through the post, unwrapped them, read instructions and nuked them in a brand new microwave, so there was no oven cleaning required. There was something a little odd about watching a slumped rabbit rotating in the nuke-rowave. So I left it to it, until the bing sounded. They're okay for a fiver each. I wouldn't say they are hot, as such. They are nowhere near as hot as a hot water bottle but they do take the chill out of cold toes. Maybe that is for safety reasons considering that kids might use them (and fussy girlfriends). I reckon one's bed would have to be rather cold for these to make much of a difference. Essentially, I'd reckon that one of these might be best used as a soft toy or decoration which just so happens to be warm. If you like your hot water bottle toasty, these won't match it. Unlike some soft toys, these bunnies are not machine washable due to the grain used inside them. Hence the standard wipe clean only instructions. So if you want to keep warm with one, rather than use it as a toy or decoration, you may do well to put it in a pillow case after heating it. That way it will stay fresher and the fur wont get so dusty. Also, the grain is only in the torso & legs (circa 10 inches), not the head and ears. I've never bought anything like this before but I have tried one of those chemical hand warmers that you heat in water, and I'd have to say that the hand warmer was hotter although it wasn't nuke-able and it wasn't fluffy. As I didn't expect to acquire a nuclear glow like the ready-brek man after testing these, I'm neither disappointed or impressed, so I'd give them a respectable 3 stars. I would have given them 4 stars if they didn't have the word "hot" stitched across them. I found that a little misleading, personally. BTW initial higher temperature lasted for 20 minutes. For a fairer test, I'll have to see what the missus thinks.

I have just received my order from play.com and they are really good quality - they feel "weighty", are well made and you would easily expect to pay £12.99 & upwards in some trendy town centre gift shop so at £4.99 they really are a steal!

As a bed warmer they are not that great, as they dont get really hot & the lavender smell can be overpowering at first, but as a soft toy with the added bonus of being a bed warmer they are fab.

My only criticism is that you cannot specify the colours you will receive; I ordered 5 for my 13 yr old daughter to give to her closest school friends this Christmas, and I received 4 pink ones & 1 blue, and even though pink is probably the best colour we were still disappointed that there was no yellow. I feel this is very poor; if you were buying one for a girl for example and you got a blue one what use is that??

I bought this for my son and was really amazed how large this was, well larger than what I expected. The lavender smell is also very plesant. As it only gets warm, and not hot it is ideal for him to snuggle up with on cold nights.

Doesn't get as hot as a hot water bottle but perfect for my 2.5 year old she loves it and now takes bunny everywhere and gets so excited at bedtime when we heat it up - just about to buy one for my neice for xmas ;-)

I ordered a bunny for my daughter and although it would be nice to pick a colour i knew she really wouldn't mind. As it happens we did get a pink one so very happy.
I would have concerns about buying for a little boy as my son would definately not want a pink one!
The bunny is bigger than i expected and a really good size for hugging. It is well made and easy to heat in the microwave and smells of lavender (but not overpowering - just pleasant)
