Electronic Money Counting Jar

Recently bought this item but it doesnt work. It's counting 2p as 1pound, 10p as 20p. No coin is being counted correctly. Very disappointed.
Dumped the box before I tried it so cannot return.

Firstly, took ages to arrive, secondly arrived in very poor condition, spring in battery compartment was broken so wouldn't hold battery in place, attempted to mend it, stayed in place for just enough time to test it out, it failed to differentiate between coins, added total was wrong, wrong, wrong!!!! sooooo disappointed, ended up binning it as it was utter rubbish

I bought 3 for my 3 children and all 3 failed to add up. 2p counted as 1 pound and some coins did not count at all and one kept resetting itself. I put the coins in carefully myself and was hopeless. A great idea in theory, sadly mine were a total waste of time, all returned

I got this as a fun item and it is but it's not accurate. If you put through a number of coins then do it again you will/might get a different total, so if it's just for fun then give it a try but if you really want the right figures then count them the old fashioned way.

As always excellent service from play.com. This arrived in good condition packed well. When my husband saw it counted and recorded your money as you put it in I had to order another for him. Not actually tried this yet as it is a Christmas Present

Bought this thinking i could save a small fortune however to my surprise i recieved a euro counting jar? useless to me ... inaccurate description

Bought two,neither lasted a day.Worked at first but soon miscalculated.A good idea that came to nothing.

Bought this item as a present. Tried numerous batteries, didn't work. Literally is just a plastic tub with a lid on it. Rubbish. Cheap. Shocking.

As you'll see from 90% of the reviews on other websites, this device cannot actually count money accurately, has a tendency to reset itself if a 50p is inserted, and is therefore very frustrating!

It does make saving pretty addictive as you enjoy watching the balance creep up bit by bit. However, the picture is perhaps a bit misleading as the jar itself is pretty small (mine is brimmed to the top full of 1p's, 2p's and 5p's and adds up to about 25 quid. However the size of the thread on the jar is pretty common so you can get bigger jars with the same thread and you can put the counting top on them instead.
