There are better models out there

| | See all ChopperAndy's reviews (1)

Got this for my son for Christmas and I have to say was dissapointed with it:

The USB cable was not in the box (it is supposed to be included).
On the second flight one of the wheels fell off.
The on/off switch seems very stiff and hard to move.
The helicopter ISN'T gyrco controlled (get a gyro controlled one as you're not constantly having to trim it).
An the throttle stick is weighted and returns to off. I prefer non-weighted ones as you're not constantly having to apply pressure to keep the heli on a hover.

There are better models out there. My brother in law has an almost identical model which appears stronger, more flyable and is gyro controlled. I got myself an S11G which is superb.

  Amazing gift!

Got it yesterday and it had already been flown into the pan full of oil, the dogs water bowl and the bin, and it still works. Absolutely amazing little thing. Recommend getting rechargable batteries as battery life is about 10 minutes (For the helicopter, which you charge using the control).

Fun toy, good value and fairly robust

I have had this heli now for about 2 weeks. It is amazing and loads of fun to play with. Quite difficult to operate, but with practice it gets easier.

One comment is the amount that the helicopter needs to be "trimmed". The majority of the time in flight (for me) is spent trying to get the heli not to spin. Once you get that right, it's quite easy to fly.

The throttle is also spring loaded, so once released all power is taken away, which too makes it tricky to fly it.

The heli is quite robust, and have hit the ceiling, walls, doors and even the telly a couple of times without breaking. It will break if you are not careful, but it can withstand most of the normal training accidents you would expect.

Don't even think of flying it outside - you will most likely lose it. It is so susceptable to wind that if someone walks by when it is in flight, you can see the heli getting blown around.

All in all, a great toy, would definitely recommend it.

  Best Helicopter So Far.

I purchased the helicopter as it was on sale and my previous silverlitone broke. I am very impressed with this helicopter is so easy to fly and smooth also its plastic and not foam which is a good thing. Honestly if your looking for a rc mini helicopter this the the best one i can recommend. Only problem is it takes 6 AA batteries so i would recommend using rechargable ones. I might even buy another as its so good. If you want it to last all you have to do is handle it with care. Previous reviews saying while it lasts obviously they were too ruff with it.

  Good beginners copter

This was my first of many mini helicopters and is a great choice to learn on. It flies well and is extremely robust taking pretty much all the knocks and bumps you can throw at it.

Plus points:
Looks good
Very robust and lightweight so doesn't damage easily
Quick learning curve

Minus points:
No gyro, so does have a tendancy to turn slowly when you open or close the throttle a little

Overall: a great helicopter for the beginner and dare I say unbreakable? Perhaps not, but it comes pretty close!

Still my favorite helicopter despite the growing collection.

  Not bad while it lasts

Just as you start to get used to it....flat goes the battery. Great fun whilst it lasts though. Also, so far i have failed to find the USB charger. The charging connection seems a little flimsy, and i'm certain it wont be long before damage incures. I'm sure there is better out there.

Just got delivered today and all I can say is wow!!
This was a belated birthday present and my first RC helicopter and I'm very impressed so far.
I showed my girlfriend and the look on her face was classic, she was smirking when it was in action.
It is easy to use straight away but might take a while to perfect, so far I can fly into the walls no problem.
Well worth the money in my opinion.
