The Simpsons: Moe's Tavern Cuckoo Clock

Nice fun clock. Your best off using rechargable batteries with this clock as normal batteries dont last long. To reset Homers whohoo's. move the hands to 12 o'clock and press the reset then slowly move hands to the correct time. ( If you move hands too fast, it screws up the whohoo's )

I was bought this clock as a christmas present last year. Admitedly, it looks and sounds good. However, it has two MAJOR flaws.

First of all, the "woo hoo's" are LOUD and you can't turn them off. The clock is light sensitive and in summer can go off as early as 05.00am, despite it being behind thick curtains & out of direct light! The light sensor is in a very awkward place and can't be covered up easily (above the door/under the "Moes" sign).

Second, the clock has a habit of losing track of time. If the last "woo hoo" of the night is at 10pm, it will "woo hoo" 10 times. If the next "woo hoo" is at 07.00am (or any other time), then it will go off eleven times, as the last time it went off, it went off 10 times! And to reset the "woo hoo's", you need to set the clock to between 12 & 1.......

If you want to sleep in past 05.00am in summer and 08.00am in winter, then DON'T buy this clock. Even now, away from any windows and/or direct sunlight it STILL goes off and the "woo hoo's" are CONSTANTLY out as I can't be bothered resetting it every day......

I have just received one of these clocks, and while the novelty does wear a little thin after a while I think our friend in the first review must have got a DUFF (get it) one. The time keeping on mine is spot on and yes the light sensor is quite sensitive. I found a small piece of blue tac will do the trick. I have not found the clock to be out though. If the last Woo Hoo was, say, 10pm and I removed the blue tac at just before 7am, I would, at 7am, get 7 Woo Hoos without resetting it.
It is quite loud and there is no way to set the volume level, but all in all it is quite a novel little piece.
The price is good and this would make a great gift for any Simpson fan, although I do not think that it would be suitable for a younger child's room.
