New from £39.99

The annual battle to find the Yu-Gi-Oh! Champion begins with the launch of the hotly anticipated World Championship 2007 edition of the ever popular Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. This is the official game of the tournament and is the most perfect accompaniment to the real-life trading card game you can get.

Players are able to construct and organise their own battles either online or locally using the wireless connection on the DS and then the dueling can commence. With improved use of the stylus, Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 is the most user-friendly version of the series yet and enables the player to experience dueling like never before.

Every aspect of the Trading Card game has been expertly recreated, to the extent that this title contains all 1600 of the latest cards, allowing for an even greater combination of attacking and defensive moves as well as the spell casting cards. In addition, owners of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Spirit Caller for the DS will also be able to access an exclusive booster pack of additional new cards.

There are a wealth of dueling possibilities in this game. Single player duels against a computer opponent include a Limited Duel, where only a set number of cards can be used or Survival Duels where the aim is simple beat a continuous succession of duelists for as long as possible. The wireless connection enables users to duel friends locally or compete against players from all over the globe. Voice Chat feature is supported via the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection giving players the option to talk as they compete.

Yu Gi Oh! The trading card game that you either love or hate. I am sure that fans of the genre will have already bought this title. If you are new to the game then I would recommend another title in the series such as Spirit Caller. The reason for this is the difficulty of World Championship 2007.

This game is pure card dueling. There is no storyline. However, there is still an awful lot to this title. Unlocking new duelists which are set into tiers, level one, level two etc. There is a challenge mode where you have to create specific theme decks. An LP survival mode, Puzzle mode and Limited Deck mode. You can also duel online through wi-fi and down load the latest Leaderboard Ghosts to duel off line. I recommend doing this as it is a great way to obtain higher amounts of DP to spend in the store to acquire more cards. You can also duel and trade cards wirelessly. This I found very useful as by using two DS systems you can trade cards between this version and Spirit Caller.

Graphics are clear and the cards recognisable. Touch screen controls are a joy to use. Sound is average. As I have mentioned, the game is designed for advanced/ experienced Yu Gi Oh! players and as such the first few hours of play can be quite frustrating. Perseverence pays off though, and I am totally addicted to this title.

Konami, please make the next title in this series have a more generous DP pay out for winning though!
