Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? the video game features all the TV Show Quiz Game's assets and structure. There are 15 questions that will take you from a virtual £100 to £1 million. There are 4 answers to each question and only one of the answers is correct. Use the stylus and touch the screen to choose the answer you think is correct. If you're right, you will win the virtual value for that question and move onto the next level.

The Top Screen:

  • This screen acts as the player's information interface and TV monitor. It contains a video window enabling rich media playback of the show's host and rendered cues / animations for non-host territories. Trademark format items such as the Ask-the-Audience graph are shown here.
  • The Bottom Screen:

    • This screen is used for showing the Questions & Answers lozenges as well as interactive touch-screen icons such as 50:50, Phone-A-Friend and As-The-Audience lifelines (when available) and the Walk-Away option, during the main game mode.

A straight TV to DS conversion with a few unfortunate flaws

    Top 100 Games Reviewer

There have been very few quiz/general knowledge titles available on the DS so far (the only other one I'm aware of is the US-centric Touchmaster), so this game comes as a welcome addition to the catalogue.

If you are familiar with the TV show, there will be no surprises when you plug in this game cart. There are no extra features, unlockables or gameplay innovations here. The game is presented by Chris Tarrant, who can take a frustrating amount of time to tell you whether you answered correctly or not. This gets annoying after you have played several games.

The most obvious flaw here is that there simply isn't a large enough database of questions. I've only played the game for an hour or so, and the amount of repeat questions I have encountered is far more than I would have expected. The questions are the heart and soul of this game and there should be far more memory available on the cart to make sure these are a rarity, but it happens far too often and really lets the game down. Another minus point here is that unlike on TV, where Tarrant repeatedly asks the contestant if they are sure of their answer, one (possibly accidental) touch of answer panel here and there is no going back or changing your mind.

You can be a millionaire-after repeat questions

It was great fun for a while but the question bank is quickly emptied. You find many repeats at low end money and as you progress you can get to a high level of cash quickly as you memorize the answers which for me took the skill out of the game. Makers of this game should have created a larger bank of questions up to £16000. Its still fun, if playing alone and getting bored with repeat questions playing as 2 players helps. The phone a friend choices are strange and never ask the audience on questions over £2000. Otherwise a good learning tool for quite young children who like trivia.

G8 time filler ; If u like the TV program you'll like this

If you are looking for a QUICK GAME, to fill some spare time, that is EDUCATING, in the fact, that you're learning, through remembering the answers, as you play the game...It's not as repeatative, as i'm making it sound.
It's a game, for juniors and seniors, due to the two sets of questions.... Choose the junior or senior questions, depending on your age or capabilities and you can even choose the subject of the questions .... ADAPTABLE and ENJOYABLE WITH VISUAL AND AUDIO QUESTIONS.
Beat your own score, or compete against another...It's up to you.
Sadly, there are down points ; When playing against another person, you need to pass the DS to that other person/s, for their turn.... You CANNOT PLAY AGAINST ANOTHER PERSON, USING THEIR OWN DS, WHILST YOU USE YOURS.
Sadly, after 14 correctly answered questions ; You DON'T WIN REAL MONEY ! LOL
Although, there is the slightest hope and possibility, that you CAN WIN MONEY IF YOU CORRECTLY ANSWER THE 15TH QUESTION VIA A SPECIAL CALL NUMBER GIVEN I BELIEVE ?
    I've never got that far...yet!
    Good Luck !

This game is great. Having purchased this game, it was everything I expected it to be. Fun, entertaining and much like the TV program. It is easy to navigate your way in the game, and came across no difficluties. I thoroughly recommend it, an ideal christmas present.
