Pokémon Ranger is unlike any Pokémon game you've played before. You control your character using the stylus, and all Pokémon are captured using a Capture Styler instead of a Poké Ball. Since you're a Pokémon Ranger and not a trainer, you must release each captured Pokémon back into the wild after they help you. It's a whole new way to explore the Pokémon universe!

The Capture Styler is the tool a Pokémon Ranger uses to capture Pokémon in the wild. When you touch a wild Pokémon, a battle begins. Using your stylus, you must circle the wild Pokémon a set number of times to capture it. Sounds easy, right? Wrong! Most Pokémon won't be captured without a fight.

Some Pokémon are so difficult to capture that you'll need to call on the help of Pokémon you've already captured. This is called a Poké Assist. When you execute a Poké Assist, the helper Pokémon's power is transferred to your Capture Styler and provides assistance in a number of ways.
  • Experience a whole new way to capture Pokémon! Circle Pokémon using the Capture Styler with Nintendo DS stylus control!
  • Use each Pokemon's special abilities to clear obstacles and to help capture other Pokémon.
  • Capture and interact with more than 200 of your favorite Pokemon.
  • Work your way up the Pokemon Ranger ranks by succeeding at official missions throughout the Fiore region.

it is very good story but when your drawing circles around the pokemon dont press to hard or it damages the touch screen. thats what happens when you get right in to the game.BEWARE ALL GAMERS!!

 Tricky Adventure Game

Hi, this game may be good for the older child, but advertised as being age 3 and up is extremely unrealistic. Yes, there is no particular violence etc...however, it does not warn that the player needs to be a fluent reader! My son was nothing but frustrated with this game as he was unable to progress due not being able to read some of the difficult words and therefore this expensive game was rendered unused. Buyer beware!!

 Not quite five star

I found this game quite interesting, it really does use the stylus well and the change in gameplay style to the original Pokemon games works quite well.
But it's not all good. The game itself can be frustrating especially when you have to keep trying and trying and trying to circle a Pokemon that's causing you problems, along with the fact that the missions come and go straight away leaving you with very little breaktime.
It does all pay off in the end as you will receive Manaphy for all your hard work.
To conclude, Great Game, Quite Frustrating at times.

 AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

awesome game it's a new style in the pokemon series and the've got it right this time.

the gameplay gets more challanging which is good and bosses are very challenging as you'd expect. and the sevret missions at the end are fun but i would have made them much harder.
