Set in an expansive fantasy universe and beautifully presented in a rich, vibrant visual style, the world of Lunar has seen a number of versions across several formats, spanning 14 years and three generations of hardware. Set a thousand years before previous storylines, Lunar Genesis tells the tale of a band of young adventurers performing courier jobs who stumble into a battle between the forces of good and evil. This battle threatens to consume the entire land and sets the stage for over 70 hours of handheld RPG adventuring.
With all of the standard features associated with a traditional Japanese RPG, Lunar Genesis is adapted perfectly to take advantage of the benefits afforded by the Nintendo DS hardware. All aspects of player interaction, from movement around the game environments to map and menu navigation can be controlled via the touch-screen. Both displays are employed throughout the game to make sure the player has access to all the information they need. The dual screens are also fundamental to the battle system, with airborne enemies occupying the upper screen and traditional ground-based troops on the bottom. Even the microphone is used, as blowing on it during a fight acts as a 'panic button'.
Perhaps the most exciting feature for series fans and newcomers alike is the inclusion of the Coliseum mode, a wireless multiplayer battle where scratch cards earned during the singleplayer quest can be used to take on other players. The participants literally scratch off squares on the touch-screen, the outcome of which dictates the flow of combat. The winner gets to keep the loser's card for use in further Coliseum battles or to aid them in their singleplayer questing.

this was one of the first games i bought for my ds and i should say this .....WOW

it was really good ,yeah it had its faults like when you run you lose minimal hp and if you breathe very heavily into the microphone you end up runnin from a battle but other than that its a good solid rpg with some very difficult bosses a bit short but well worth it i completed it in 12 hours but thats cos i couldnt put it down so if you see it for less than a tenner its a bargain and and a good un at that

I picked this up as a preowned cos i liked the pretty pictures on the cover. I usually like games i can just pick up and play which you sort of can with this. It frustrated me at first cos i didnt really know what was going on (no tutorial), but if you read the (lengthy) manual you'll get so much more out of it. It's really well thought out and very addictive - i've been playing it for about 40hrs and still have a way to go. It's kind of like pokemon in that you have to build up your level to progress (i don't know how that dude finished it in 12 hours!) For the price it's selling at now i would definitely recommend (not for young kids as i think they would get impatient with it).

 Great game, graphics, playerbility

I brought this game about three weeks ago and i still playing and enjoying every minute. I don't play often but when i do i love it! The graphics are really good, the concept ingenious and the characters life-like.
The bad points ie losing hp when you run and sometimes not being able to find the items/monsters fast enough are oversadowed by the good incorporation of the touch screen, and the story.
Well worth any amount of money!

A superb game, i havnt been off it, the only thing that lets it down is the fact that when you move you lose health. If you are thinking of buying this, i would recommend it.

 not bad

this game is okay,as a fan of rpgs it didnt really live up to my standards.it gets a bit annoying as you lose 1 hp every step you take so you have to keep healing your main character or using items.but its okay
