Put a puppy inside your Nintendo DS! Pick a dog from a wide range of the most popular breeds, then care for and train it using the Touch Screen and microphone. Pet the pup and play with more than 100 items like tennis balls, flying discs and even clothing accessories, and teach it to do tricks by creating your own personalised voice commands.

Train your pups well and compete in obedience and agility trials. Win these competitions to earn cash, which you can use to buy supplies and even more dogs to keep your first puppy company. Walk puppies around the town to meet neighbourhood dogs or interact wirelessly with friends' Nintendogs using the innovative Bark Mode, which senses another Nintendog nearby when your DS is in Sleep Mode.

Nintendogs is available in four different versions: each containing a different selection of six dogs to choose from at the start. By being a good owner and/or meeting up with friends' Nintendogs in Bark Mode, you can unlock more breeds, up to a total of 20 different dogs!
  • Breeds include: Dalmatian, Boxer, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Yorkshire Terrier, Beagle.
  • Pet the pup, acquire and play with more than 100 items like tennis balls, flying discs and even clothing accessories. Teach your dog to do tricks by creating your own personalised voice commands.

Nintendogs was the DS game that I obssesed about until it was released and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it, I remember when it came in its package from play.com, I ripped it out of the packaging, teared the cellaphame (appologies if i spelt that wrong), stuck the chip in and was slightly dissapointed. For about the first half an hour I was sat there screaming into the mic to get my new pup just to learn its name. Does it get better ?

Yes. Aside from having to teach your dog its name (Lizzie isn't that hard is it ?) you can teach it tricks which are fun to do and not to mension watch, you can take your dog for walks and find various things to stick on its face, play with and more importantly SELL SELL SELL. Money on this game goes towards supplies, various toys, basic accesories and some times junk thats completely pointless but amusing to your dogs. There are two ways to earn money, SELL SELL SELL and enter competitions, these are simple and very fun. The three catagories are frisby (a breeze), speed (a breeze if you have the right dog) and obedience (fat chance). You can practise frisby up the park and speed up the local gym. You have to wash your dog and give it food and water (greedy little things, do they think I am made of money) and dump them in a dog hotel.

The graphics in this game are a delight for handheld Nintendo's, truely this is probably the best game for graphics on the DS. Not that this matters as most people who actually by Nintendo brand things aren't bothered about that. Moving on.

This game will keep you amused for about an hour as you can only teach your dog 3 tricks a day, you have to wait an hour before you can the little things again, and your only alowd to enter a dog in 3 competitions a day. This is about the only thing wrong with it ooh and that if your voice changes you can forget about using the mic, trust me I learned that the hard way. NINTENDON

The dalmation and friends nintendogs was the first game i purchased with my new DS. I decided to get a DS console because i travel a lot, and reading heat magazine and listening to the same songs over and over on my ipod just wasnt satisfying enough for sometimes a 6 hour journey with lots of nice delays. So i settled myself on the train and whipped out my new pretty pink ds and turned on dalmation and friends. Imagine my horror when i realised that one of the very first things i was required to do was to talk into a microphone on the train!!! People would look at me as if i was barmy calling 'lassie'. U could not carry on the game unless u spoke. So i grumbled on the train thinkin 'what a waste of money' all the way home. The voice activation makes it an amusing game by calling out commands to your puppy and watching the puppy obey. However, the intro of the game does not allow choice to use the microphone and therefore leaves travellers a choice to turn the game off or call into their microphone and attract funny looks from strangers. To cut to the review, nintendogs is addictive and fun at first. This is certainly the best 'dogs and cats' type of game i have ever played. You get to teach it tricks with your voice and enter it to competitions. Overall, this game is fun and addictive, however this game does not envoke motivation to play it. The reason why is because there is nothing worthwhile to aspire to buy with the money earnt from competitions. You will find yourself entering dogs in to competitions and findin a huge nintendogs wad of money resulting from competitions that just sits there because theres nothing to spend the money on in the game. The game is addictive at first. Youl spend hours at time training your dogs, and it is relatively easy to become a top trainer. Once you acquire such a status, youl start to find the game slightly tedious. This is because the only thing left to do once teaching young lassie the collie a trick and entering him in to a competition, is to buy freddie the dalmation and teach him a trick and enter him into a competition....tedious. Quick summary- addictive, cute, amusing, best 'dog type game around', tedious and note 'dont buy if you want to play a game while travelling!'

 good at first

at first this game is really good, there is loadz to do. After a while though it gets boring and you have done everything!! you are best borrowing it off a mate instead or rent it.
