What's Cooking? Jamie Oliver is the first video game to feature international cooking star Jamie Oliver and his delicious, world-renowned recipes. What's Cooking? Jamie Oliver walks players through virtual and real-life cooking situations, from shopping to chopping, dressing the dish to serving up meals. The portability of Nintendo DS means Jamie Oliver is with you every step of the way to offer help and inspiration whenever and wherever you feel like cooking up a storm.

The interactive cookbook is stuffed with 100 original Jamie Oliver recipes, mouth-watering photography by David Loftus of the quality we've come to expect from Jamie's books, and features voice recognition leaving hands free to concentrate on the cooking. The interactive shopping list automatically saves ingredients from chosen recipes and organises them by food type. The creative cooking mode encourages players to get stuck in by using hundreds of hand-picked ingredients to create their own dishes. Up to 100 of your own unique recipes can be saved to be recreated in the kitchen later and shared using the console's Wi-Fi Connection. The cooking games offer fun for everyone with a series of recipe challenges in a variety of virtual real-time 3D kitchen settings.

Interactive cookbook: Create a book's worth of Jamie's delicious recipes, beautifully illustrated with David Loftus photography, with voice recognition leaving hands free to get stuck in.

Cooking games: Follow and recreate 25 of Jamie's recipes in 10 original 3D kitchens with hundreds of utensils and ingredients to choose from. Cook against the clock in a series of challenges that will see you chop, stir and garnish your way to becoming a master chef.

Shopping list: Jamie accompanies you to the supermarket with the interactive shopping list that creates and stores your own shopping lists. Items are organised by food type and additional items can be added individually using the keypad or text recognition.

Recipe creator: Allows you to create and store up to 100 of your own unique recipes and share them with friends via Wi-Fi.

Fab addition to the DS range - much better than the other cooking games out there. You can actually add your own recipes to this one making it truly interactive and it's super easy to use! Wish I'd bought it here at play.com rather than paying nearly a tenner more from another online gaming store (not mentioning any names!) but other than that I'm very pleased I bought this!

Would recommend to people of all ages wanting to cook/beginning to cook - the recipes include really nice tasty dishes like bakewell tart and baked garlic mushrooms and it works when trying to get the kids interested in eating something other than fishfingers. Also I found that the recipes were also things that you might want to actually cook unlike the other cooking titles I have which offer really bizarre dish choices that you won't probably try.

All round crowd pleaser & very easy to use. Enjoy! x

As good as a Cook Book!!!!!

I didn't find this a good DS item at all, to me its a book I expected it to be interactive and explain each recipe, it doesn't!! It looks exciting in the beginning, like any other DS cooking game, but when you get into it, and get to the recipe part, it fails to deliver, I may as well have purchased a cookbook, pressing the next button is the same as turing the pages of a cookbook, with no interactive talking or insturctions, I don't think this is worh It!!

Couldn't even get passed the introduction!

      This game started off okay..
Graphics - pretty good etc.. But then i was suddenly left to make food on my own! I tried putting a few things onto the plate but.. Nothing seemed to happen.. And i just gave up.
Not good, get can't decide what to eat? Instead!

      =)

I now know how to make a Marie Rose sauce!

Well I couldn't put this down over Christmas after receiving it as a present! I would say that this game has two parts:

      1) A detailed cook book
      2) Minigames

The cookbook offers a wide variety of wonderful recipes you can try and cook yourself at home. In essence I suppose its just Jamie's recipe book but on the DS. This is great although I think it would have been better again if Jamie had talked you through each recipe as with Can't Decide What to Eat. Sadly this is not the case. However, it does offer you the opportunity to select items you need for each recipe to create a shopping list.... though not sure taking your DS around the supermarket would be that practical!

It's the minigames that are the real fun in this game. You can actually prepare ingredients and create your own culinary delights in the Test Kitchen area and then save each recipe. You can battle against the clock to mini challenges Jamie sets you, such a cook a fried egg.... tip here being you need to forward time to get the egg to cook in time by pressing the X button.... I spent a while trying to figure this out! Also you are given the opportunity to go through set tutorials where you are taught how to make certain recipes.

All in all a very fun little game. I would recommend it.

       Its addictive

Learning how to make the recipes is the best part of this game I would say, it goes into alot of detail, but of course you dont have to follow extactly what he says- you can also create your own recipes and save them for later. Plus there are challenages, like how fast you can crack an egg- I would say this game is good for cooking beginners and for thoes who already familiar with the kitchen. Only annoying part is when youve learnt all the recipes! (however once youve leart them, you can do the proper test for them all over again!)
