ok, games like this are always bought with good intentions, and normally end up shelved after two or three goes. This, however is different.

The game is very well structured, with 'lessons' introducing words and ideas gradually and in groups related to instances (e.g. family titles, numbers, hotel words, question types etc). once these ten or so words are introduced, you learn through repetition via mini-games. these are appropriately varied, including wordsearches, whack-a-mole, memory games and multiple choice. (more games become 'unlocked as you progress)
The game has three profiles (read save game slots)available for use, so more than one person can use the software at a time. It alos boasts a voice function where you can hear the words pronounced, and attempt to match your own pronounciation to the voice recording on the game. The game also has a dictionary/reference section, which is surprisingly broad (10,000 words)

I have previously used Miguel Thomas language products, which are good for the ipod on the way to work, and this product complements these, providing visual cues and bite-size lessons you can keep coming back to, dipping in and out when the mood takes.

overall, I was impressed. Expecting a hastily cobbled together title that would cash in on the recent vogue for 'brain-training' and the contrived 'edu-tainment' label, i was pleasantly surprised. try it for yourself, but at £17.99 you could do far worse than try this out. the product is detailed enoug hto be of use to adults, but also quirky and fun enough to appeal to children. thumbs up in my book, couldnt have been much better. a polished product, recommended.

 Superb

This is a very good game, a lot better than i was expecting. It's fun, easy to use and very helpful. The game covers such things as greetings, numbers, colours, days of the week/dates, family, telling the time etc, amongst many other things. If you want somewhere to start with learning Spanish, or maybe you didn't do too well at school etc, then you can't go too wrong with buying this.

 Fantastic game for learning Spanish

I wanted to learn Spanish and decided the college courses are too expensive so I decided to opt for this game for my DS and WOW I wasn't disappointed this is fantastic for learning, this is NOT one of those games where you just click the screen there are parts of this game where you have to repeat what you hear and then compare how close you are to the actual Spanish speaker. Once you turn this on and get started the time will fly past and now I have got to fight my Fiancée to get my training done as she has decided to learn too and finds this great fun. An excellent purchase for learning Spanish.

This educational game had the potential to be so grindingly awful that I was quite worried when waiting for it to be delivered. I was not dissappointed though. I am going to Spain for a month to take a course in beginners Spanish and thought that I'd get this to help me out. I reckon it has definatley helped me out with the basics and together with books and lessons, it is a great tool. I wouldn't use it soley for a full comprehensive way of learning Spanish, unless you only want a few phrases for holiday but I would recommend it to GCSE students. The game includes a dictionary, verb tables and full phrases, which you are likely to use on holiday for example. It is easy to navigate your way around the game and is easily understandable. One of the most useful features is the fact that you can record your voice saying things then listen back or play it together with the voice on the DS to see if you are pronouncing them correctly. All in all a handy little game which I shall be bringing to spain! Oh and by the way, if you buy this and want to progress to the level 2 game... DON'T! My boyfriend bought it as he has a higher level of Spanish than me and thought it was rubbish with many of the great features inexplicably excluded in the game, he found the level 1 game much more helpful. Adios!
