One of the most beloved franchises in Nintendo's long history makes its glorious return in spectacular 3D! Pit of Kid Icarus fame is back in a new game designed specifically for the Nintendo 3DS system. Kid Icarus: Uprising is a fast paced and actionpacked blend of aerial and ground-based shooting built on elegantly intuitive and streamlined play control. This follow-up to the original Kid Icarus - released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987 - has been at the top of gamers' wish lists for years.

The game's story begins with the return of the Queen of the Underworld, Medusa, and her Underworld Army. Pit, a heroic angel, with the help of Palutena, goddess of light and guardian of the human race, must combat the forces of darkness as he battles Medusa and her minions by air and on land.

Kid Icarus: Uprising uses a control scheme designed to fit the game's unique blend of flight, shooting and melee combat, and offers tremendous precision, speed and depth that rewards dedicated players. The left hand uses the Circle Pad, while the right uses a stylus, both at the same time. Every copy of the game will come with a free stand that holds the Nintendo 3DS at an angle above any flat surface, and provides players with a new kind of gaming experience.

A wide variety of collectible weapons offers an extraordinary amount of replay value. With 9 different categories of weapons, ranging from Divine Bows to Shot Claws, players can learn the unique characteristics of each weapon and determine which is best suited for each battle and their style of play.

The game also features an incredible new system that allows players to customise their play experience: the Fiend's Cauldron lets players adjust their desired Intensity ranging from 0.0 to 9.0 for each individual Chapter. As the Intensity increases, enemies will be more aggressive, have more energy and hit harder - but players will be able to earn more hearts and more powerful weapon drops by defeating them. Hearts are also used by players to purchase new weapons. The standard Intensity is set at 2.0 but players can precisely adjust this by 0.1 increments. In order to increase the Intensity, players must bet by placing an increasing number of hearts into the Fiend's Cauldron. If the player is defeated during the Chapter, some hearts will be lost and the Intensity will automatically be lowered.

Kid Icarus: Uprising is compatible with the Circle Pad Pro accessory, offering an alternate control scheme for left-handed players. With the Circle Pad Pro, the player holds the stylus in their left hand and uses the Circle Pad with their right hand.

  • Please Note: 3DS titles are not compatible with standard Nintendo DS consoles
  • Fast-paced and action-packed from the streets to the skies: Boasting game play that is easy to pick up but incredibly deep, the game is sure to satisfy novice gamers as well as fans who have been clamoring for a new installment in the franchise. The hero, Pit, teams up with Palutena, the goddess of light, who bestows on him the miracle of flight for limited stretches. With this gift, Pit soars through the skies, shooting down swarms of enemies, then alights and engages in frantic ground-based battles against Medusa's underworld army
  • Items, weapons and upgrades galore offer an incredibly deep experience: Find and collect numerous weapons and items that offer bonuses and ability boosts. Players can choose weapons before they send Pit into battle, giving them countless layers of strategies in each level. Players can choose between a basic Blade, basic Claws and a basic Orbitar weapon. Blades are well-balanced, Claws have limited reach but increase running speed and the Orbitars can shoot two shots that grow in power over distance

Gameplay Features:

Fiend's Cauldron: An incredible new system that allows players to customise their play experience, the Fiend's Cauldron lets players adjust their desired Intensity ranging from 0.0 to 9.0 for each individual Chapter. As the Intensity increases, enemies will be more aggressive, have more energy and hit harder but players will be able to earn more Hearts and more powerful weapon drops by defeating them.          Kid Icarus reminds of the great Sin and Punishment Wii game.

Out of all the old Nintendo characters which pretty much got forgotten about from the good old NES days Kid Icarus was the one I wanted Nintendo to bring back the most because, I love Greek mythology and he was rather cool in Super Smash Bros: Brawl. Kid Icarus can be as hard as nails if you put the difficulty rating right to the top just like it's older brother on the NES. Even on standard it's a nice challenge and the levels are very well thought out and look stunning. The Pandora level was a crazy maze of madness which I really enjoyed.
The voice acting in this game is brilliant and there is a lot of humour between the different characters. There is a impressive amount of different weapons to collect which you can modify too. Kid Icarus also reminds me a little of the very rare classic on the PS2 called Rez. If you enjoy your on the rail shooters with some intresting on your feet 3rd person action which makes Kid Icarus stand out then what are you waiting for. I had Star Fox 64 on the N64 when it first came out which alongside Kid Icarus: Uprising are the best examples of this type of game.

absolutely brilliant game, story mode is gripping and endlessly enjoyable and the online multiplayer is as addictive as any game ive played to date. heard that the controls were awkward but ive found them intuitive and very quick to respond and thats without the included 3ds stand. excellent work from project sora, another nintendo classic!

Kid Icarus Uprising is the best game on the 3DS. Its a real treat from start to finish. My 8 yr old son has been playing it for hours and hours and is really enjoying it. I would really recommend it to 3DS users.

and great multiplayer for a ds/3ds game is so uncommon... but it is (ive spent about 70% of my playtime on multiplayer)

i was anxious about the control system (as ive been told its very confsuing) but didnt have trouble at all (you have three inputs, the circle pad, touchscreen and left bumper) and dont use the stand at all

         Brilliant and challenging

Another excellent game brilliant stand as well that takes the strain off playing not only this game but others as well - found it great use with metal gear solid snake eater. The game is epic and the graphics and game play a well deserved challenge. The even contain some 3.d. cards in. Definitely keep me and the family busy over the Easter Bank holiday. Buy this game certainly delivers bang for your buck. Well worth the price.
