For the first time Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D delivers the intense Mercenaries gameplay experience on a handheld console. Featuring re-mastered stages from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, it's a race against time as players try to defeat as many enemies as possible before the countdown reaches zero. The fast-paced, combat intensive action of Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D is available both as a solo experience or gamers across the world can team up and enjoy two-player co-op via network play.

Gamers will have the opportunity to tackle the game's missions with legendary Resident Evil characters from past and present. These include Chris Redfield, Krauser, Hunk and, making her debut in a Mercenaries game, Claire Redfield.

While the gameplay will be familiar to those who have previously played Mercenaries, changes have been implemented to take advantage of the new hardware, most notably the transforming the stages and characters to full 3D plus the ability for players to move and shoot and the addition of touch screen functionality to switch weapons on the fly.

  • Please Note: 3DS titles are not compatible with standard Nintendo DS consoles
  • Includes a playable demo of Resident Evil: Revelations
  • Fan favorite Resident Evil Mercenaries mode, in 3D and on a handheld for the first time
  • Fast-paced, combat-heavy Resident Evil action
  • 2 player co-op gameplay with Ad Hoc and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection
  • Reworked missions from the original with new placement of enemies and objects
  • Choose from legendary past and present Resident Evil characters, including for the first time in Mercenaries, Claire Redfield

The best part of Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is the built in demo of Resident Evil: Revelations (Nintendo 3DS) which is one of the best games on the 3DS. Mercenaries has pretty good graphics but the gameplay is very simple and a tad boring after a few hours play. I found the graphics were a little jerky now and then which was off putting. If you find shooting a endless supply of zombies with no substance fun, then you may enjoy Mercenaries 3D more then myself. The fact that you can't delete your game file normally is a real pain in the butt. There is apparently a way of deleting saves stored on the cartridge, albeit via a bit of third-party kit. According to a reader tip sent to Siliconera, NDS Adapter Plus (Backup DS Save Games) is a little USB device which allows you to back up and manage your DS and 3DS saves via a PC. It also allows save deletion. Anyway I can't help but feel this game should have been added on as a bonus with Resident Evil: Revelations.

So much worse than all the rest.

This game is lame, it has no storyline that I got to and it was boring just kill this and do that. Given that Resident Evil 5 was so good, this was a let down. They should have just made a 3DS version of that.

 An adapted RE5 mini game

The other guy clearly didnt play mercenaries on RE5, this was never gonna focus on the story and it shouldnt be criticised for its lack of it, the game plays well despite the lack of second stick for aiming, makes turning corners a little awkward but its not so bad. Not the greatest RE title but its good to see more adult titles for DS/3DS, could be better menu system isnt brilliant and the control layout for the 3ds isnt suited to this type of game but it does well enough 7/10

 Happy hunting!!!

I have zelda which is the best longest game on 3ds but this is great, unlockables lots of levels and co op!yes you cant delete the 1 save file but the game is about beating your score and unlocking stuff and it comes with a demo of Revelations!this game is better than i expected!!
