I hate it when people review this product as a game. This is a tool for musicians, not a game. I play bass, so I thought this would be a nice software for time killing - And it is! It's relaxing to just lie in your bed and play a couple of songs. And you can always surf in the net and look for new songs to play. It's easy and you can play almost everything you want to. I hope they'll make JS2 and fix some problems. Please, add a electric guitar with good distortion effects! And Wi-Fi would be awesome, too!

This product doesn't beat the real guitar, but if you're too lazy to learn to play it, or you just want to jam in a bus, subway etc. I recommend this!

Next to useless, and not much fun

As a guitarist, I thought this may be a fun little app for the DS which might also come in useful for recording interesting sounds or jotting down ideas. It is not.

For any non musicians, this is possibly of even less interest and it probably wouldn't hold anyone's attention for more than five minutes. There's just a basic lack of fun or even hint of a challenge about the whole thing.

There is only one guitar sound to choose from - a rather thin, acoustic type of tone - although you can add FX and tweak the tone, these are limited to just two at a time and not particularly pleasing either.

The tag line invites you to play and sing and the literature raves about the use of the microphone and the record feature, but it's really a basic midi recorder - nothing that goes into the mic is actually recorded, so what's the point of using it at all?

The DS system offers huge of opportunities for good music games/apps - so when are we going to see one?
