Build, manage and play on the go, as the quintessential city simulation arrives on Nintendo DS! Be the Mayor, call the shots and manage every aspect of life in your new town. Pick one of eight fictional cities or create your own then get ready to modify, manage and grow your new domain. Thanks to user-friendly Nintendo DS stylus and Touch Screen controls, running a successful, bustling metropolis is easier than ever. Whether you're tackling daily challenges, from planning to pollution, or dealing with natural disasters, help is always at hand from your dedicated team of in-game Advisors. With their tips to guide you, make the right decisions to shape the future success of your city - and the happiness of its citizens.

It's Your City: Take charge of one of eight fictional cities or build your own, exactly the way you want. Varied townscapes, beautiful international landmarks and entertaining characters create a truly individual flavour for each location.

Stay in Control: Enjoy city management made simple, with user-friendly design and intuitive control. View your city in the top screen as it grows and develops, then get to work with the Nintendo DS stylus and Touch Screen.

Help is at Hand: Even the most gifted Mayor needs a little guidance sometimes. Luckily your trusty Advisors are on hand to instruct and advise, as you learn the basics. No matter what events or problems unfold, you can count on them for tips and training throughout, all mixed with a little humour.

Do it Your Way: Choose from two gameplay styles to customise your SimCity DS experience. Select objective-based gameplay to tackle tricky challenges, or opt for more open-ended fun, enjoying the everyday ups and downs of being a city boss.

Save Our City! Jump to the rescue to protect your town from disaster. From blowing out fires with the microphone to fighting off monster attacks with the Nintendo DS stylus, it's up to you to defend your citizens when calamity strikes. Can you be the hero of the hour?

Only in SimCity DS: Exclusive features take the fun even further with ingenious gameplay innovations. Use DS wireless communications to swap letters with fellow Mayors and unlock international landmarks, and sign your latest decree with a flourish using the Nintendo DS stylus.

Nice try but would like to see more effort

I first played this game on the SNES probably 15[ish] years ago and I remember being totally hooked. Spending HOURS designing the perfect city in blocks of 9 with room for roads rail and trees/parks/water in between to combat pollution....

So going back to it as a 29 year old I was expecting to relive a little of that anal retentive streak I developed in my youth...

At first I was pleased, the controls are made extremely easy with the stylus [except possibly demolition - be careful if you're tight on cash] and the screans are FAR more simple than subsequent Sim Citys I have played on PC and even Mobile.

But the game is let down a little in my eyes by the abysmal "Advisors" who do nothing more than state the glaringly obvious; and the need to keep "Signing Off" on things every 2 minutes, wasting valuable time where the clock could be ticking and your money could be growing to improve that section you wanted too....

There are a few sub games where tapping the screen to help Santa deliver presents or to explode Fireworks to please your Sims only goes to show that more effort could have gone into making this game for the DS.

On the SNES, you could leave the game running on its own so the years ticked by, come back in say: 2056 and have a big pile of cash waiting to rebuild any disasters and improve everything you wanted.

In this DS version it pauses the game and you have to KEEP clicking through screens every year....

If this were an action game where you were expecting to have your eyes glued to both screens then this would be fine! But it's a strategy game and I personally like to walk away or be doing other things whilst my "Sims" SHOULD be getting on with their own lives. But you can't on this version. You have to KEEP clicking to get rid of your advisor [a selection of which doesn't make them any less laborious] and this is my major gripe with the game.

To say I'm upset is a going a little far but Sim City was half the reason I bought my DS 6 months ago, as I found out this game was being released....

I only hope the other half of the reason makes up for this poor show when Links FINALLY makes a brand new appearance...

DO NOT GO ANY WHERE NEAR THE BUY BUTTON!!!

Plain rubbish - avoid the tempatation that i was unfortunately conned by and buy Animal Crossing: Wild World instead because this is,
          well...
          Boring, rubbish and uninteresting!

           Brilliant!

This game (despite the previous poor review) is, in my opinion, brilliant! There's so much to do! I got this the day it came out and i've been addicted ever since! Finally! a cure for long distance car journeys!!! Get it!

           Not a good game.

Poorly designed & poor gameplay. Was bored with this after 30 minutes. After playing the PC game years ago I thought this would be just as good. What a let down.
