Geometry Wars: Galaxies

Everyone loved Geometry Wars on the 360/PC, its one of those pick up and play, almost criminally simple shooters that is immense fun in small doses and can be very addictive.

When I heard it was coming out for the DS I was genuinely excited, an opportunity to give the game a unique twist that the DS excels at what with its dual display, touch screen and stylus.

However, upon playing the title I have to say its overpriced as a full price title, somehow isn't as good as the 360 version (could be the stylus controls as opposed to the dual analogue sticks of the 360) and generally as an owner and ardent fan of Geometry Wars on the 360 I was left dissapointed - I can't put my finger on it I just expected more where as in actuality the game doesn't even reach the standards set by the now aged title on the other platforms.

There really are so many better games on the DS which deserve the money, if you already own this on the 360/PC then take it from me on the DS its a title worth skipping and if you don't own it on another system at least try it before you buy as it may feel burn't having spent full whack on what is a budget title on other platforms and not an especially inspired remake here on the DS.

It's hugely addictive and while younger gamers might at first balk at the simplistic and repetitive nature of it, it's worth persevering because this is a great shooter and my favourite ds game at the moment!! Not to be missed at the bargain price here on play.com!!!
