I am genuinely surprised by Sight Training.

What initially appears to be a cynical ploy by Namco and Nintendo to stand on the coat-tails of Brain Training ends up being a little bit of genius. And I for one and genuinely very impressed by it.

When you start the game, you realise just how much Namco has been influenced by the design and ingeunity of Brain Training. Not only is the layout, design-wise, very similar to BT, but the basic concept of completing a set of mini-game challenges using the touch screen is also implemented. Initially, people may be put off by the simple opening games such as Box Track (Circle is placed in one of three boxes and mixed around, you must find it), but dig deeper into the challenges (most of which are unlocked over days, as per BT, and you will find yourself popping boxes flying across the screen, tapping boxing gloves and spiking volleyballs every day.

The game tests five areas of visual abilities, Dynamic Visual Acuity, seeing moving objects clearly, Momentary Vision, taking in information at once, Eye Movement, self-explanatory, Peripheral Vision, seeing a wider area, and Hand-Eye Co-ordination (which is surely tested by all gaming in general...) via a series of the aforementioned challenges. Every day, you are given a set of skills to complete and can then try out all of the other games afterwards.

Then you can find out your eye age. Yes, you can improve your eye age.

Mine was 29. Gutted. I'm 24.

Honestly though, it is a thoroughly charming little piece of software. It is not a game as such but there is something moreish about it in the same way that Brain Training is horribly moreish. The sports games are hugely addictive (the table-tennis game is very intriguing, it makes me wonder if there could be a table-tennis game for the DS at some stage! Get onto it someone!!!) and it tests your brain as well so you're getting two things trained all in one go.

For under twenty quid, you can't go wrong really, can you?

Challenging and a bit of fun.

I've only had this game a couple of days but am enjoying it thus far. It follows a similar format to Brain Training in that doing quite well in one test rewards you with the choice of a "hard" option in that particular test (some reward!)and opens up additional tests in the main menu. The tests are quite challenging but I guess they will become a bit easier with practice. The sports exercises are fun, especially the table tennis which is the first additional exercise I have managed to 'win'.

Like Brain Training your progress, or otherwise, is tracked on a series of graphs. If you like Brain Training, then I guess you'll probably like this.

 this works well

Got this for christmas, i wanted it cos i do kickboxing and wanted to improve my hand eye coordination, well slowly but surely itsworking and in turn will have a possitive effect on the things that i do.
Its definatley worth the money, get ti if your looking to improve your concentration , reaction speed and hand eye coordination..but please note it does not improve vision problems like short and long sightedness..you need an optition for that lol.

 Blink and you'll miss it

Better than Brain Training in my opinion, lots of hours of fun to be had. It gives your eyes a brilliant workout while enjoying yourself at the same time. Very good price and definitely worth the value. Kids will enjoy playing it on long travels and adults will too.

Another game like brain trainning but this one is testing how good your eyes are. This is another one one that youve gotta play everyday to get your age down. In my opinion i think this is alot better and more addictive than brain trainning a must to get.
