Time to race... no wires attached. The acclaimed Mario Kart series has gone wireless, letting players race and battle with up to eight karts at once, regardless of whether everyone has a game card. An all-star cast that includes Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Wario, Bowser and Toad will round out a truly all-star lineup of more than 30 courses drawn from every Mario Kart game. That's right - players will tour courses from Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart: Super Circuit and Mario Kart: Double Dash, not to mention brand-new tracks and arenas. With all the crazy items and frantic speed players have come to expect, this game is a Mario Kart fan's dream. The game has a new dimension of fun, since players can battle others around the world by connecting to Nintendo's new wireless gaming service, Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

Ive had Mari Kart for over a year now and still can't put it down Its so fantastic and addictive its the best Mario Kart game out there. There are 5 different game play modes Grand Prix, Time Trials, VS, Battle and Missions. There is also a Multiplayer mode which i love playing with my Nephew. You can even design your own logo to go on your kart

When i first got this game i loved it but after a while, after the main game has finished there is not much else to do. There is of course a new missions section to add a little life to the game and thats about it. as for whats new in the title of the hugly popular game. well not much. there is only a few new tracks the rest are from previous titles and well only 1 or 2 new items.

The online mode of this game finds itself the victim to over ratings.
There is no chat function no talking. so there is no real difference online from not, there is no rankings or leader boards of the sort and you can't choose who you race unless you have the other persons friend code.
and you also may sometime find yourself racing impossible people as there can be people who race at a natural pace of 2 or 3 times your speed. i dont know if this is a cheat or people from other countries who may have a faster version. I dont know.

So any way overall this gets 4 stars. it would have five but it does get boring after a while and the online mode adds very very little to it. but still its worth the money

Mario Kart is the latest edition to my Ds collection. I am a huge fan of all the Mario Kart games however I had fears about how one of the best series games would make the transition onto the Ds.

Well with spot on handling, imaginative track design, superb visual flair and the vast selection of game modes, this is surely one of the best Mario Kart games ever! The tracks are extremely wide (to accommodate a possible eight racers!) and the hop feature makes a very welcome return following its' absence from the Gamecube version. There are no coins to collect but you can gain a nifty boost by driving in somebody's slipstream (very clever).

There are 16 new courses, which seem to get more graphically astonishing until the inevitable Rainbow Road let down at the end. There are also four courses from each of the previous four games in the series. If all this isn't enough then you will be glad to know that multiplayer is amazing too, with the most generous array of options to date and guess what, you only need one cartridge for a four-player game. Incredible! This was a feature of the new Mario Kart on the Ds, which highly impressed me!

And guess what, I haven't even mentioned the unbelievable mission mode which to be frank is amazing (I will let you try this one yourself instead of rambling on about it). Overall, this is one of the most sprawling and complete Mario Kart ever! A truly astonishing achievement, a highly impressive Ds racer!

Pros:
+ The best Nintendo racer is back.
+ Nifty little control scheme.
+ Loads of different tracks to race on.
+ Graphics aren't too shabby either.
+ Always great fun to play.
+ Superb choice of characters.

Cons:
- Risk of becoming repetitive.

Overall: 94%.
Gamplay: 95%.
Graphics: 86%.
Character Selection: 89%.

This game remains for me probably the best reason to own a DS. It plays exactly like a Mario Kart game should in that whilst the races are obviously rigged it's all very much to maximise your enjoyment. There are plenty of tracks both old and new and of course there's the multi-player. Mario Kart is one of the best games ever made in multi-player. If you can get some buddies to play with then you'll be in gaming nirvavna and if you can't then providing you can connect your DS to the internet you'll be able to play people around the World. Obviously it's more fun with people you're in the same room with so as you can hear all the whooping and jeering and it certainly makes victory all the sweeter when the person you just trounced is right next to you.
If you don't get this for your DS you must be mental.
