Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (GTA)

Absolutely hilarious!!! The graphics are back to Playstation 1 but they are absolutely perfect for the DS. Haven't had so much fun playing a DS game ever. Finding the Random people can offer illuminating and often genuinely funny moments, and I am absolutely addicted to the scratch cards. I've played it for about 15 hours so far and only completed 23% of the game and I haven't been bored once. There are so many nooks and crannies to explore, but be careful of what you might find in the bins! I'm 38, a chick, and absolutely love it - it's not just for serious teenage gamers only. If you're easily offended though, buy Nintendogs!

When I heard they were doing a Grand Theft Auto game for the ds I was excited and worried at the same time of it being naff. Chinatown Wars is the best Grand Theft Auto game since San Andreas on the PS2, yes it really is that good. Rockstar have made great use of the ds touch screen controls where you can hot wire a car or brake the car window when you drive it into the river and, there are many more great things which you can do that are ds only. The story is excellent and has lots of great humour too. The graphics are some the best yet on the ds and the music is'nt bad either. The graphics are drawn in 3D with a birds eye view and you have different radio stations just don't expect proper songs as this is a ds game. Like all Grand Theft Auto games this is only suitable for people 18 and over because of the DRUG DEALING, RUNNING PEOPLE OVER, SEX TOYS, STRONG LANGUAGE and KILLING PEOPLE IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS.
For all us people who are 18 and over this really is one of the best games the DS has to offer and should not be missed by anyone.

And here is possibly THE best game yet. An absolute stunner that'll have you in awe at how much the makers have managed to pack in to the teeny tiny cartrdge. 3 out of 4 islands of Liberty City from GTA IV are here! Here are some of the highlights of the game.
Touch screen mini games that have been integrated so well, its like they've been there all along.
Side quests are back - Vigilante, rampage, stunt jumps, random people in the street wanting your help, taxi missions (you can whistle in to the microphone when you want one!), ambulance, fire engine and even take away delivery. There are also 100 hidden CCTV cameras to blow up.
Missions galore! They are really fun and most offer a new experience to previous GTA games where you would just drive somewhere, shoot people and drive back. Again the touch screen mini games offer variety from cracking a safe to making molotov cocktails at a gas station.
The drug dealer missions are an integral part of the action but if you don't like it very much (I fail to see why you would) you can avoid it mostly along with all the other side quests.
Very nice comic book style cut scenes (though the GTA humour has always been a bit hit and miss for me and it comes off even worse when its all just in text.)
Everyone (Above the age of 18 that is) needs this game in their collection. And its a great price.

I've probably done about 7 of the main missions, all of which have been really good fun, but I have spent hours and hours on what the blurb above calls the 'in-game economy based on a trading system with fluctuating prices'. This 'trading system' is absolutely addictive. I keep trying to go back to the main missions, but everytime I do I receive an email from a 'trader' telling me he has some commodity or other going cheap, or that he desperately needs some of said commodity, so I speed round to his place, 'trade', get out of there, often pursued by the cops, and spend the proceeds on a new safehouse. I think I've only got a couple more safehouses to buy. THEN I can get back to the main missions, maybe,

Excellent game but definitely not for children, even slightly older ones. The dialogue is superbly written (and very funny) although in a change to other GTA games you read it rather than hear it.

The only other thing to note having played the PSP version also is if you have both machines buy the PSP version - it's better.
