  Tetris At Its Best!

| | See all Millsa01's reviews (9)

For Tetris-addicts like me, this is a real treat. The classic Tetris mode is Tetris at its best, brilliant colours with classic Nintendo tunes and Mario graphics. He advances through levels on the top screen as you clear lines.
Although it's frustrating, I'm also glad that it's virtually cheat-proof. You can only access levels/music when you earn them and the best music of all- the original Tetris theme- is saved until last.
There's loads more besides original Tetris and the new games are great. 'Touch' mode incorporates the stylus while 'Mission' really tests and hones your skills. If you're a serious player, buy this.

  really good

Two words: Fantastically addictive.

It's come a long way graphically from it's nintendo game boy days, but it's still the same old tetris - brilliant and... Brilliant!

My mate use to have Tetris on the old Gameboy which we use to compete against eachother for the highest score way back in 1989. Being a Nintendo fan since the beginning with the N.E.S. I was really chuffed to see that Mario, Link and Metriod themes are mixed in with Tetris DS gameplay. There are six different game modes on offer here but normal Tetris is still the best mode. Each of the Nintendo themes has the original music of those games which is a nice touch too. Up to 8 people can play against eachother by just using the one game card if you know that many people that own a DS. The multiplayer is great fun and will last you ages. The only the bad thing I can say is that it is still really only Tetris and a game called Puzzle League DS is better which takes full advantage of the touch screen.

After trying to buy tetris from many places, was recomended play.com and got one straight away. Tetris is easy, fun to play and also has several variations on the standard game. Great value for money and a fun trip down memory lane

A treat for dedicated Tetris fans

Tetris games have come and gone over the years, but never has a Tetris collection been better. Tetris DS is developed by Nintendo itself, and you can easily se it's handled with love. The game features several new modes with new twists on the Tetris theme, Push mode, Puzzle mode, Mission mode, Touch mode, Catch mode and of course the classic Tetris, that never gets old. The different modes of play have each classically Nintendo themes, like Metroid, Super Mario Bros., Yoshi's Cookie, Zelda, Ice Climber and others. As for multiplayer, standard mode (2 players without items, 4 players with items), mission mode and push mode (2 players) can be played locally with one cartridge. Over Nintendo wi-fi connection service it supports two or four player battle modes. Even trough online mode could be much better, it's still better than nothing. Overall, Tetris DS is a great game, it's a fresh take on the Tetris franchise, its looks and sound good. Its fun and its almost painfully addictive, Tetris DS is like a love letter to Tetris fans. You can't go wrong with this title.

The classic Gameboy puzzler arrives on DS. Updated graphics and loads of game modes, including the addictive puzzle mode. Multiplayer gaming makes this the complete package.
