If this is your first pokemon game then you have picked a good one to start with. If you already have the others then this is a MUST to add to the collection.
Saphire is one of those games where you start to play it and have a hard time putting it down. The game involves travelling around with a pokemon, catching more and training them up so that they can beat gym leaders (bosses). Once that is done you have to beat the elite 4 to become the champ. The game doesnt end there as there are a number of side quests and goals to accomplish - contests, battle tower and of course ya 'gotta catch em all'.
Graphically the environments are fantastic and the battle scenes are great. There seems to have been a lot of work on the sound and it is very pleasing to the ears. Gameplay is easy and there is always something to do and when (eventually) you complete everything there is multiplayer options aswell. Due to the nature of the game you will find it hard to put down and will be on it for weeks before you even get a thought about being bored of it. The playability and longevity of the game is amazing.

The only downside would be that the story is the same as the other games - collect badges, defeat evil team, become champ.

Great for newbies and there is so much for people who have previous versions it is a MUST HAVE.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars  Good but buy cautiously

The Pokemon games as a whole are brilliant. I would suggest anybody who has played any of the other games get this and anybody who has not buy another Pokemon game such as ones for the Nintendo DS. The gameplay on all Pokemon games is brilliant and unmatched by most.
The problem is that the Pokemon games released on the Gameboy and Gameboy Advanced are old. The battery that powers the memory in the cartridges are dying. The third generation games like this aren't as old but the batteries are still losing life and as they do your single save file will be periodically deleted and it gets worse over time to the point that you can never save your game again.
I hope not to put anybody off from buying this product but be warned your experiences may be ruined by this feature. Also note, there are services about that replace the battery making the game fully usable again.

This game was basically my entire childhood it sounds sad but when you're at a young age, most guys go through the 'Pokemon Phase'. Make sure that when you or someone you know goes through it, you must buy them this!

This game is incredible, it'll keep you interested from start to finish. Which is pretty amazing due to the huge amount to do within the vast game world.

You'll find yourself challenged in this game at any age, gym fights require tactical coordination which adds an edge of awesomeness to the game, generally.

It's a good storyline and it involves the player all the way through. It's an old game, but it's among the best. It's a must have, if you havn't played this or it's RUBY counterpart, then you need to.

The only reason this is a 4 star review is that you need to observe an obvious money-grab technique within the game. Certain Pokemon can only be caught on each version. For example, Groundon can only be caught on the Ruby version, and since is a large part of the game, it makes you want to buy the opposite colour for a different experience. The point being.. It should all be in one game, instead of split into two.
